  • Interesting fact about the Packer defense

    Well, interesting to me, anyway!

I read this morning that only one time this year has the Packer defense given up more than 2 touchdowns, three in the first MN game. That was the game in which Jenkins hurt himself in warm-ups, so didn't play at all, and the Packers had only 4 d-line dressed because Jenkins hurt himself after the 45 man roster was turned in.

The Packers had only Pickett, Raji, Wynn and Wilson on the d-line. Neal was out with his injury, Montgomery had been made inactive. Poppinga was out, too. Bishop and Peprah were in their third games as starters. Shields was back in his second game after missing two with his injury. So it was just his 5th NFL game. In short, the defense was in the middle of its major changes at the time.

I hope I never, ever, run into you as an opponent in a game of pub-stumpers!

If that holds true after the Pats game I will be proud of the defense.

But didn't Detroit gain more yards against the Packers than anyone else, and put up 26 points? Man, they must've kicked four field goals.
