...The roof is 28 years old. The life expectancy is 20 years. The manufacturer recommended five years ago that a planned replacement should be undertaken.

That reminds me the heads on my 8-Track need replacing. Other than that it's still good.

Would you believe that I have a working (at least the last time I tried it) 8-track and a box of tapes in my basement? I packed them away just because they came and went so fast. I thought at some point they would be neat discussion pieces!

That's some footage. I read that the Metrodome maintenance crew predicted to the Fox camera crew that the roof would collapse as it has in the past, so the camera crew ran the cameras all night in anticipation of just what happened.

I read that as well. Apparently they also have workers up there shoveling and spraying snow off the roof. I'd be interested in knowing if that is standard procedure for a dome or if it just for the Metrodome.
