  • Rodgers' Epic Performance in Huge Game

Rodgers can't win big games they say. Bullshit.

BTW, DYAR = Defense Adjusted Yards Above Replacement - This Football Outsiders' stat gives the value of the quarterback's performance compared to replacement level, adjusted for situation and opponent and then translated into yardage.

Rodgers finished the day with one of the greatest games of the DYAR Era. By the end of the day, he'd accrued 294 DYAR, the most of any quarterback in a single game this year and the 11th-best single-game performance since 1993. It was comfortably the best game of Rodgers's career, and a better game than Brett Favre ever had as a member of the Packers.

To get a better understanding of what it means to rank No. 11 on that list, consider there are 256 games each season in the NFL and, thus, 512 starting quarterbacks. Since the start of the 1993 season, then, there have been 9,184 starting quarterbacks. Ranking 11 on a list of 9,184 translates into better than 99 percentile.

PFF also had him graded out at +7.6, extremely high (same as his ranking v. Bears in week 3...)

      Rodgers is good.

If Nelson doesn't fumble and Jones doesn't drop the beautiful ball that would likely have gone for six, he has an even bigger game.

Best game I've ever seen by a QB.

Rodgers will start to quiet those critics after the Bears game and once he wins a couple of playoff games. It seems unfair but thats how QB's are rated, AR needs to put the team on his back and lead us to a playoff win in a hostile enviornment. Then and only then will he get the credit we all know he deserves...

I don't live and die with the team quite as much as I used to. I've gotten older, have two young girls, and my priorities have shifted. I still want the Packers to win, but I can live with whatever happens. However, more than anything else, this is why I want the Packers to win this Sunday. Rodgers has handled himself with humbleness, class, and humor. He deserves to have a moment where people sit back and say "yes, he's good AND he's a winner." No comments about he's good but not as good as Favre. No comments that he's just a fantasy football QB. No comments about close losses. He deserves this moment. I hope he and his teammates can make it happen.

                    Well said.

                          Wow, harv getting some kudos!

I'd agree with everything except the emotional connection to the games. Even as I have grown older, I take the losses just as hard as i did when i was younger. I have two young boys and the older of the two is begining to feel the same way. Monday is always better when its a victory Monday!

                          Nice post harv!

Thats not possible in a regular season game.

Guess you missed Vick's game against the Redskins.
