  • OFFICAL PACKER vs. BEAR GAME DAY THREAD

The beginning might sum up our bitter feelings right now
The end, the famous rant, may sum up the first game.
"We let them off the hook". Pretty good description of how we lost game one

We were the superior team. 18 penalties, some mental breakdowns, and classic special teams coverage breakdowns
At that time, I still think da Bears are who we thought they were.

But as for now, REALITY BITES and the reality is da Bears are BETTER than we thought they were

They've made the necessary moves on both the coaching and free agency front to change this team
Meet a Successful HUGE free agency signing in Julius Peppers
Meet some former head coaches who are outstanding assistant coaches in Marinelli, Martz, and Tice as a stellar OL coach
Meet a dominant Special Teams return Unit

And love it or hate it, you can now CROWN THEIR ASS

It's very clear that Ted Thompson is one of the top GM's and has done an outstanding job with the depth to withstand injuries. When they play consistently, they still can measure their skills vs any team in this parity driven NFC

It's also clear that our Green Bay Packers show too many signs of inconsistency against teams they are better than...Redskins/Dolphins/Lions.........

Tonight's game should mean little to the Bears and everything to the Packers...except...Lovie always notes Beating the Packers is priority #1. I'm assuming he plays most or all of his starters for the game.

You think the Badgers loss yesterday was demoralizing ? It will be nothing compared to three hours of frustrations tonight

The Bears are going to come out with a game plan to get to Rodges and hit him often. Beyond Jennings, we'll be frustrated with more drops that should not occur. The running game....will be........well our running game......frustrating.
Still, our offense will score and put up points into the mid to high twenties.

The Bears are deep enough at WR to expose some weaknesses in the Packer secondary. Johnnie Knox is stepping up his game and we'll gripe once or twice because Mr Bush has somehow made the defensive field of play again.
Despite all the railing on the Bears for this, Jay Cutler is showing this year that he was worth every pick and player the Bears gave up for him. His talent is immense and if he can develop with a superior OC for several years this guy is going to be th real deal for a long long time in Chicago. He's been outstanding the past six or so weeks and he's clearly in a groove that can expose our lack of secondary depth.

All of this measures up to a very close game

Close games often come down to key coaching decisions, penalites, and special teams.

Shawn Slocum, meet Devin Hesters Jock Strap. Oops........you are not qualified to carry it.

We are dammed if we do and dammed if we don't. Let him play and he'll light our asses up; kick it out of bounce and we'll be greatly enhancing the Bears field position all night.

If there is one thing we can be confident in it's that our special teams will make a mistake or two.

And that will be the difference. We'll question some officiating calls. We'll question some coaching calls. James Jones will probably have a very bad play or two along with a couple very good ones. Mason Money Crosby might even miss a field goal as he's hit a bunch in a row so it's about time he missed one so some can scream at him all offseason. And our special teams will be inferior.

Been a Fun season all; tonight it ends as a nightmare. Bears 27 Packers 24

Bretsky's Threads will go 2-0. Falcons will win when Carolina thunks a PAT off the upright that would have tied the game. Bears will hold tight until late 2nd Quarter Packer score, then pull in their horns and take a beating. Some anonymous Bear backup will attempt to gratuitously injure a Packer starter. Near riot will break out.

    Packers will ugly game 27-10.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Packers win in a route and put Cutler on IR...

The state of Wisconsin can't handle two shitty losses in one 24-hour period. I'm sorry, the Bucks beating an injured Mavericks team does not help anything.

I would prefer if bretskys post was a bazzinga...if you don't watch big bang theory, that means a joke.

Are we suppose to click on the link and minimize as we read? I picture Allen Ginsberg reading Howl.
After lunch the players lounged about the hotel patio watching the surf fling white plumes high against the darkening sky. Clouds were piling up in the west… Vince Lombardi frowned.
