How do you think he would look in Green and Gold next year as part of a two headed monster of him and Grant?

nah, we have enough younger talent to go along with grant in starks and nance. plus b-jack is still a good 3rd down back and kuhn can still be used as a hammer

I like Ricky. He's definitely an independent thinker. Don't need him at his age on the Packers.

Simply age is enough to say no, he's nearly as washed up as all the other running backs whose names have surfaced here after Grant's injury

His age might be deceptive. He's very low mileage.

Not a terrible last three years...what I see is a guy that can be a valuable number 2 back and can take the load if the top guy goes down.

Yeah, Ricky is NOT a bad #2 option guy who can fill in at #1 if needed. He showed last year, when Brown went down, that he still has it. VERY low milage on him. Guy was out of the league for YEARS and has been very effective since getting back in and outside of lat season when he had to take a majority of the snaps in the second half, he really hasn't taken much of abeating.

Age is indeed desceptive with him. Just look at his 3 year splits since getting back in the league - he'll last longer (in term sof age) than most backs due to long time off he had in the middle of his career. I like him A LOT as #2 back that can push Grant to be better. Starks hasn't shown THAT MUCH, and his practice attitude has been "so bad" that MM wouldn't even activate him until a roster spot finally opened up last week. Kuhn is true FB who can pound for the short yardage.

I would LOVE a Grant - Williams 1-2 punch next season (plus, Williams is GREAT insurance given Grant's injury, as he has proven he can still carry the rock well, and can take the load of a stretch if need be. He's a great insurance policy for 2011) with Kuhn still there for short yardage/fullback duties to provide an extra wrinkle to the run game, and then with starks and jackson really battling it out for one spot, which is essentially the third string back.

Not saying this is a typical TT move in getting us a proven veteran backup that actually is still in great physical shape to perform (IE, not washed up like the other veterans mentiuoned this year), but it would definitely be please. Just have to look at the numbers to realize Ricky still has "it", and can have that "it" for even longer as a #2 option. We still need one, regardless of what happens this year.

We could win the Super Bowl this year, it still doesn't fix the fact that starks, kuhn, Jackson - none have shown they can carry the load if they have to. Williams has.

Starks looks like the most complete back we have. Good vision. Runs hard. Gets more then 2 yards a run. I think they were just terrified of putting him in situations where he had to pick up blitzes. Maybe he has bad "practice attitude" but he still has enough talent that they need him on the field.

Give Starks an offseason to get stronger, and put him through training camp and the Packers will have a fine RB tandem with him and Grant.
