Amazing that he kept up with him. Holy crap, Philly didn't expect that. Our secondary was huge. And it does sound crazy but I trust Shields out there more than Wood. Wood plays inside and has a very complex assignment. The way all three of those guys come together with Woodson having the unique skillset inside. . . . We're the number 2 defense for a reason. Our guys can really cover and with Woodson being so versatile, we're very unpredictable too.Last edited by RashanGary; 01-10-2011, 10:55 AM.Formerly known as JustinHarrell.

Instead of going full nickle against Atlanta, I wouldn't mind seeing Peprah taken out for Shields to have kind of a hybrid base/nickle package where Woodson plays the SS role. That way we keep an extra front 7 guy on the field to stop the run and still have our best cover guys.Formerly known as JustinHarrell.

A couple of years ago we were wondering who would eventually replace Harris and Woodson. Looks like the answer is 2 UDFA's. Kudos to TT for going crazy in free agency!I can't run no more

That would worry me a bit taking Peprah off the field. One of the worst problems from last year was the communication between LB and Safety in coverage. A huge part of cleaning that up has been due to Peprah (also Woodson, and improved pass rush).Originally posted by JustinHarrell View PostInstead of going full nickle against Atlanta, I wouldn't mind seeing Peprah taken out for Shields to have kind of a hybrid base/nickle package where Woodson plays the SS role. I see your concern, but I think JH's idea has merit. Turner worries the crap outta me, but that QB can pick you apart as well. If Dom has the right personnell on the field, JH's gameplan could fly, especially if Jenkins adds another pass rushing dimension.Originally posted by mraynrand View PostThat would worry me a bit taking Peprah off the field. This discussion is a bit of a thread jack, but I find it cool.

I wondered that at the time. Sometimes they seem to blow it dead very quickly, other times they seem to wait for ever. I've never been able to figure it outOriginally posted by Joemailman View PostAm I the only one who thinks the play should have been blown dead? Looked to me like the ball had stopped moving and the Eagles were making no effort to down it. Instead they pushed Underwood into it.

Peprah was the first to miss Jackson. Peprah slid right off of him, and after Bishop finally snared Jackson you could see Peprah standing nearby and he opened his hands and looked at them as if to say "What is wrong with you two hands?"Originally posted by Noodle View PostLots of Kuddos to go around, but you have to love that shoestring tackle that Bishop made on Jackson near the end of the game. I couldn't see if anyone else had an angle, but it sure looked like if Bishop didn't go all out and make that play, game over. Nice bookend to his game-opening sack.
Sure glad that guy has stuck around to make some plays in non-preseason games.[QUOTE=George Cumby] ...every draft (Ted) would pick a solid, dependable, smart, athletically limited linebacker...the guy who isn't doing drugs, going to strip bars, knocking around his girlfriend or making any plays of game changing significance.

It'd be a great fluff piece if only it were in the off-season. He's the type of guy 31 other teams want on their staff when this stuff is being written leading up to the playoffs....Originally posted by mraynrand View PostMcGinn's column on Whitt made the Sacramento Bee:

I like Bishop. He's proven that with playing time, he can be solid. Kind of interesting that the Packers played a 2-4-5 nickel most of the game. When they went to the dime, they took out Bishop (and left Hawk in) and put in Jarret Bush."There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. Isn't that a 2-4.5-4.5 because of Woodson?"Never, never ever support a punk like mraynrand. Rather be as I am and feel real sympathy for his sickness." - Woodbuck
