The issue is having the number of players (16) on IR that the Packers have. If they had just a handful, like many teams, it probably wouldn't be a problem.

Cannon fodder players - and thankfully no important officers were injured. Still, there's a good chance that the Packers regular season record might have been better without the injuries; but I still believe that the injuries just made TT work harder 'cos the core of really, really important Packer players was intact. Maybe I read too much into it, but when you said that all the IR players were "cannon fodder" with no "captains", I assumed you meant that none of the IR'ed players were worth anything.
