when he's 40. I hate to say it...but if he plans on playing four more years, he may not finish his career in Green Bay.

I don't think Driver will demand to be a starter until he's 40, so I could see him staying in Green Bay for the duration. He'll probably accept a role as a #3 receiver in the future. He PLANS to play for 4 more years...but if his production declines a bunch, I don't think he'll have a problem walking away. Personally, I think he has 2 good years left in the #2/#3 role...but he's going to get dinged up easier and more often going forward. The third and fourth years are much more iffy I think.
Since our offense basically plays a lot of 3 WR sets, he can see plenty of playing time even in a #3/#4 role. We need to be 4-5 deep at WR, so I don't see why we would need to push him out the door as long as he is OK with taking on a lesser role. It's such a GOOD feeling...13 TIME WORLD CHAMPIONS!!

The Donald Driver story and his life before and since being drafted by the Green Bay Packers is a timeless one. DD is a great story, a great Packer WR and frankly, one of the ALL TIME GREAT Green Bay Packers.
The DD story never grows old.

If I was given the ability to select one man in the history of any sport and put him into that sport's Hall of Fame, I wouldn't choose Pete Rose, Dennis Rodman or Don Mattingly—heck, not even Jerry Kramer...

Agreed. Many Packer fans have concluded Bert is now a laughing stock; I belong in that category. I don't think it's a minor deal that our old QB's behaviour has deprived me of a great deal of quality of life, so, if my immature desire for revenge offends you or anyone, well, too bad. I will replace my lost bragging rights with my fundamental right to schadenfreude. I admit, it's not the same, but I'll take what I can get.Originally posted by LEWCWA View PostThis is why the Favre thread is so long, you guys just can't help yourselves!
I'm not offended by your attitude.

The whole retirement reference was for entertainment purposes only! (and was playing off a thread entitled: "Chad Clifton: I'm not retiring")
BTW, in response to your claim "You guys can't help yourselves" I say: "Neither can you!" and "So what?" and "It's only a big deal if you make it one.""Never, never ever support a punk like mraynrand. Rather be as I am and feel real sympathy for his sickness." - Woodbuck
