  • NFL offseason moves

I started a thread like this a couple years back. Basically I'll just post in here when some pretty big moves happen. Here are a couple.

    1) Colts decide to release injury-plagued safety Sanders

Man this guy and Asomugha are going to big for there new teams. Sanders when healthy (almost never) is maybe the best saftey in the game or at least top 3.

    2) Pricey roster bonus forces Rams to cut safety Atogwe

    3) Texans release veteran safety Wilson, four others
The official source for NFL news, video highlights, fantasy football, game-day coverage, schedules, stats, scores and more.

    4) Lions docked seventh-round pick for anti-tampering violation
Following a review and a hearing, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell determined that the Detroit Lions violated the league's anti-tampering policy by publicly commenting about their desire to acquire players then under contract to the Kansas City Chiefs.

    5) Steelers use franchise tag on versatile OLB Woodley
    Draft Brandin Cooks WR OSU!

What this means is that if there's a CBA, Atari Bigby's got some competition as a FA.

          Woody! Dang!

Short, pithy, a little bit pissy, and it made me laugh.

Who's the impostor who hacked into Woody's account?

Wouldn't mind us showing interest in the guy from STL. He's pretty damn good.

give it up. TT will sign no one this offseason. We have too many guys returning and draft picks. I just can't see where there will be any value to us in the FA market.

Never say never. Ted's in a great position to bundle picks and players for a monster trade if he so chooses. I'm not saying he necessarily will, but he can if he wants.

Oh I am not saying he will make a move. Their really isn't a reason too - we are the champs and have a lot of pieces coming back that should make us even better.

However, that doesn't mean there can't be some interest shown. We won the SB, we have all the key guys coming back, and that's pretty attractive to FA's who are still looking for a ring. Some are willing to take pay cuts in order to position themselves best able to get rings. GB is as good of a franchsie as any other right now to get into to get that done, and if your a looking to be a starter we have very few positions where that is a possibility.

SS is still up for grabs, Burnett is the guy for now but if we find a proven top guy to take the spot? Not like I would complain.

I think one of the MLB spots is up as well, though most agree it's between Hawk and Barnett, not anyone outside the organization. Jones is no sure thing for OLB, an the starting DL is pretty set. We have a LG position that could use an upgrade and possibly another WR spot if Jones walks. That's about it really. Make the draft interesting since outside of MAYBE another tackle or a LG, a lot of the draft is for depth then for future starters.
