He was not cut. His contract will void (or has voided) and he will be a Free Agent at the beginning of the FA period, whenever it starts.

And I would caution reading as much into Woodson's quotes and all the web and radio news has. Woodson is not quoted as saying he would move to safety for Asomugha. But that he would do it if asked by Capers. That isn't exactly an ironclad invitation.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

      18 games: 18 + 50% of 2 preseason games = 19.0 games

At least that is how I see it.
Somewhere around there, anyway. And a whole bunch more revenue. And the best part- more football.

The two preseason game percentages might be low. Skill position starters and vets are out before half except for the 3rd preseason game, when they often play a series into the 3rd Quarter. I would expect them to play to the half in Preseason Game 1, then the half plus a series in PsG #2.

I don't want them to expand to 18 games. The season is getting too long and grueling for the players, and there's a nice symmetry to having a 16 game season for 32 teams (in 8 four team divisions). The scheduling is fair and easy to comprehend.

I don't know that coaching staffs would agree. How the hell are they supposed to evaluate players if OTA are cut and 2 preseason games are gone?

The preseason isn't about the vets, it's about the rookies and bubble players. And we saw how important they were to the Pack this year.

OTAs being cut? You must mean just this year because of the CBA talks, right? This year is an aberration. College teams play zero preseason games. Two should be fine for the NFL. Preseason sucks for fans, and especially season ticket holders, who are forced to buy tickets to meaningless scrimmages.

I think there is a better chance of Justin Harrell being on the field for GB on opening day than there is of Assaaammaagaandiosid being on the field for GB on opening day.

I'm pretty sure I saw something about mandatory OTA's being cut if they went to an 18 game season. Can't remember where though.

I see 20 Packer games a year not counting the playoffs. I will still see the same amount of football.

I know most people bitch about the preseason games for season ticket holders but I actually like the preseason games. You have a Saturday night game so you party in GB for a whole afternoon and you don't have to go to work the next day. You get to see the depth of the team and if any of the rookies are going to contribute in the near future. And this year will be even better because, while there will be no "offical" event for the Super Bowl Champions, there will be that we got to see the first "live" action in Lambeau field after the "biggie".
But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

Yes, offseason work seems to be on the table. At least from the preliminary discussions.

I want more football. 18 games is better than 16. I love teh NFL season and if we need bigger rosters, oh well, all the more benefit for a guy like Ted who loads up with talent and depth.

I agree with this so much. The nice thing about football is that every single game matters. I don't want to further dilute the importance of each win or loss.

Except there are rumors that moving to an 18 game schedule would include a much-decreased team offseason. So however you read that...

The time the vets are on the field in preseason just doesn't compare to a regular season game. Those guys really hit a hell of a lot harder when the game's for real. This game is really brutal. I would be in favor of 2 scrimmages, 2 pre season games, and a 14 game season max.

I think you are the only one. I hate shelling out full price for games that don't mean a damn thing. they give preseason baseball tickets away!

maybe they should take the preseason tickets off the season ticket holders package and sell them to some of the fans that don't get to go to a regular season game. this might work for the packers, but not many other teams
