  • Scouting Spy Game

If someone's already mentioned this, forgive the redundancy, but does anyone know if other teams are scouting Ted Thompson? Are the Packers engaging in draft/FA/pro player personnel subterfuge? Seriously, the Packers should be tossing out scouting countermeasures to confuse other teams, lest their own thorough and successful scouting techniques be compromised by leeches from other teams. What do people know of this? Have the Packers hired Malcom McDowell to go scout players in which the Packers have little or no interest?

Do the Packers hire PIs to determine whether Packer scouts are being shadowed by Bears' staff? Am I over-thinking this? being too paranoid? Is the off-season too long? Uncertainty of no 2011 season overwhelming? Thoughts?

After lunch the players lounged about the hotel patio watching the surf fling white plumes high against the darkening sky. Clouds were piling up in the west… Vince Lombardi frowned.

Yes, Yes and Yes again, I would vote for a 38 game season, 6 bye weeks and an 85 player roster.

Malcolm McDowell was great as the airplane mechanic in "The Russians Are Coming!"

[QUOTE=George Cumby] ...every draft (Ted) would pick a solid, dependable, smart, athletically limited linebacker...the guy who isn't doing drugs, going to strip bars, knocking around his girlfriend or making any plays of game changing significance.

I have read that he will ignore the people he really is interested in while other Packer scouts watch them in his place. So if Thompson was watching Carimi at the Badgers workout and Elliot Wolf was watching Kendricks, bet on Kendricks being the target.

Unless the Packers know that the Bears and I have figured this out and have not switched roles to leave unknown scout as the decoy.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.
