  • Record work stoppage

This is now the longest work stoppage the NFL has seen - we are now in the 58th day.

And, seemingly, we still don't know why.

As my Pappy used to say, it's hard to tell the difference between men on strike and men taking their lunch break.

Ya. Not much of a work stoppage when there wouldn't have been much work (mandatory that is) going on anyway.

It really won't become serious until training camp should start.

That's true, and mentioned in the article. No games have been missed, so the time has kind of slipped by. People are aware, but not noticing it. It was obviously much more in your face when the strike was during the season.

The sound of silence from the league, the players and the courts is deafening.
