Sad to see him go. He must have wanted to play again, otherwise he would have taken the hint and retired to save face.

One of the better stories in Wisconsin Sports ever.

Now that is a sad day. Tausch is a fantastic player and rep for all of WI. Good luck Mark.

        Good luck Pillsbury.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Hopefully he doesn't feel slighted and sticks around to coach... even if he has to take some time off.

No longer the member of any fan clubs. I'm tired of jinxing players out of the league and into obscurity.

Great player, great person. He would be an asset to have back as a coach to aid in the developement of the gaggle of young linemen TT has brought in.

Of the cuts they've made, it was actually about the most obvious. He would be the #4 OT, and he was getting paid $5.6m this year and he's struggled mightily with injuries in recent years (and he's getting up there in age.) The whole question would be whether he would retire or the Packers would cut him.

Still, sad to see him go.

Who can say that they played High School football, then went on to their State school and finished at their State's NFL team?

I don't know if Tausch is a good guy or not, but he's been a heck of a player. Went to Wisconsin as a walk-on and became a starter on the OL that got Ron Dayne a Heisman and won a Rose Bowl. Then got picked in the 7th round and ended up a starter his rookie year in 2000. Amazing career.

I am really hoping they do something special for him at some point during the season.

Not to mention he has a Masters and a charity that focuses on literacy.

Well, Zigs, that charity certainly weighs in favor of him being a good guy. I didn't know about that. Pretty friggin cool.
