Since it's free agent time, it's bound to be slow news in the land of TT, so I thought I'd bring up something I noticed thumbing through some SI camp pictures.
For the first time in my memory, I saw advertising patches on some NFL jerseys! Ads on jerseys are commonplace in international club soccer, but I don't recall seeing ads on any of the big three (MLB, NBA, NFL) before.
Even GB has gotten in on the cash, sporting "Belin Healthcare" patches. From what I could tell, not all teams have done this, but Dallas and the NY Giants have taken the cash.
I'm not sure how I feel about this. I'm guessing ads will eventually make appear on to game uniforms, and this is just the camel's nose under the tent. I've always liked the purity of American sport unis, but if it's between purity and cash, I'm guessing the owners will always take the cash.
