I think all 8 are a possibility. Only a genius can see through the haze.

Lang has looked stout so far, and held up pretty well as a rookie. I think he has the lower body and attitude to hold off the big dogs inside. I like McDonald too though.

I went with Old McDonald because a farm kid ought to be tough.

I voted for T.J. Lang. I think he will get the nod early, but the way the coaches rave about McDonald, he might be the guy the coaches see as the long-term answer.

I'm not sure McDonald is big enough to play guard. I definitely like him, but I think he might have a better shot on the edges.

the coaches have plenty of experience with what Lang can and can't do. If they were comfortable with him as the answer, why would they be giving Sherrod first crack with the #1's?

You just answered your own question. Yes they do have experience with Lang on what be can and can't do but they don't with Sherrod so of course they are going to see what they have in him being a 1st round draft pick. I mean you can look at Sherrod and tell he's not a guard, this dudes future is at tackle.

Because Lang might be serviceable in the strain of Colledge, but they want something better? I mean, Colledge did start over Lang last season, so while he might get us by, it's not very likely that he develops into a great player for us there.

I agree that Sherrod is an LT, but the coaches must see it differrently. It's a short preseason, there is no time to run experiments for the sake of giving backups experience. If they knew Lang was the guy, he would be getting ALL the reps since he is the new cog in the wheel.

The Swami Fritz sees all, knows all, and sees TJ Lang manning the spot for the whole season. In a manly way.

According to the rosters at Yahoo, McDonald is 6'4" 316. Lang is 6'4" 318. Sitton is 6'3" 318. Colledge is 6'4" 308.

                          there all farm kids lol.

I think one of Lang, Bulaga, or McDonald will be our starting LG this year and probably the next 5 years, at this point it's impossible to just pick one.

Baring injury I think the guy that wins it out of camp will keep the job. Coaches don't usually panic and start rearranging the pieces unless some is really shitty. I think that guy will be Lang.

Ole McDonald FTW but I think Newhouse will win it
