He was pushing him away from where grant was supposed to be. Wells did EXACTLY what he was supposed to do.

Yep. Grant was trying to avoid a Cardinal to his left so he stayed right, but he should have cut left right behind Wells. He tried to beat Wells defender to a gap and didn't get it done.

I'm also pretty sure Capers doesn't waste brain cycles on scheming to beat offenses in the preseason. He could, but he's smart enough to realize that he gains nothing by doing it.
