Can't help but like Zombo when you read this from MM's post practice remarks:

          TomSilverstein:
Zombo played the game with the broken scapula. Feel we have good depth there. Gives Walden more reps and young guys opportunity.

I don't think Zombo is an IR candidate, since a broken scapula usually takes ~6 weeks to heal, which would make him potentially available for the Bronco's game (week 3).

How the heck do you break your scapula in pregame workouts? And then play the game with it? Strange story.

I think you break it in the pregame the same way you break it in the game, by hitting somebody. You play the game with it because you're tough.

Sucks, but I don't think he is going to IR. Lurker is right he shouldn't be out longer than 6-8 weeks. Since he gets 3 weeks recovery time before the season starts, he should be avaliable still pretty early in the season. Walden gets his chance to prove he is the guy now though.

Pain in that location is probably also very hard to differentiate between muscle, nerve, and bone injury. For all he knew, he just had a strained muscle and decided trying to win the starting job was more important than resting it.

Yeah...it's not like his shoulder blade split in half and half of it slid down to his kidney. It's cracked no doubt. But...in order to heal it will need to be immobile and that means he'll be ready to lift and and run again after it heals. He won't be playing for a while. I think IR is still a possibility.
[QUOTE=George Cumby] ...every draft (Ted) would pick a solid, dependable, smart, athletically limited linebacker...the guy who isn't doing drugs, going to strip bars, knocking around his girlfriend or making any plays of game changing significance.

Walden is fine. Zombo was the best candidate to play in place of Clay Mathews if he misses some time.

This is a bad loss. Walden & Mathews better hold up.

Sure would be nice if brad jones decided to show up. Don't think I have read a single blurb about him this preseason.

Could we have a Brad Jones sighting, please?

What has happened to this kid, it's like he fell off the face of the earth.
