  • Pat Williams not signed?

    Has Pat Williams signed anywhere?

I don't recall him retiring, and am a bit surprised someone hasn't brought him into camp, assuming he still wants to play.

Dude's 39, but I think he could still be a contributor in a 4-3 defense. I'm surprised no one's had a look. I guess teams might be waiting to see how the kids work out before calling someone like him. I'm sure he could be brought in just before opening day and be plugged in.

Kevin Williams has a two game suspension right? I assume anyone picks up Fat Williams, they get the two gamer as well. Who wants him for game three is the question - maybe Cleveland - they just went 4-3 from 3-4 last year....

Is he subject to a suspension for starcaps if he signs with someone? If so, that might be why. http://www.startribune.com/sports/vi...120923184.html

Some others from MN like Harv could no doubt comment with greater authority than I, but it seems to me that Fat Pat wasn't so PHAT last year. He was just fat. When a 39 year old's effectiveness and production drops, chances are he's done. Add in the suspension for the final nail.

Wow - I did not know he was 39. I thought he was, like, 36 or so.

I think he's done, then. Maybe he can get a time-share with Justin Harrell and his family.

YIKES! What is Justin Harrel but some team's candidate for Mascot. What a shame for him; after the NFL payday, what frustration he may feel. It's just one of those things. No adaption to transition. He doesn't have ' the body or ' the luck '. Is he still in TC and healthy? If so I'm surprized.

Pat Williams will not be a Packer. He will get a shot somewhere after he serves his suspension. People will fall like flys early in this season and in late autumn with the impact of that LOCK OUT coming at a cost to player injuries. I predict loads of injuries at the curtain call and more than usual injuries as the season continues. There will be needs on every NFL team week to week. This will be an interesting NFL season and matchups again unpredictable in many instances as we saw last season. It will get wild. frustrating for NFL analysts and fans that enter the Pro PickEm competitions.

Back to Pat Williams. He's a little too Purple and Gold (I'm thinking... to audition @ Lambeau). Maybe I'm mistaken, and we do seem in potential trouble @ DL. Pat Williams is at the end after an outstanding career but he will play again, or at least, some team will fill with him. Hopeing for much. For Pat Williams it's better in the NFL tryng to seel his potential than selling Life Insurance or autmobiles.

Fat Pat's suspension doesn't start until he is on an NFL roster I beleive. You can't just wait until the 5th week of the season and sign him.
But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

Fatty was saying last season that it was his last. I think he's done.

His decline was part of the problem on Minny's line last season. (Along with KWilliams, who also declined a bit.)

MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Kevin Williams has been hampered all preseason by a painful in his left foot, and that doesn't figure to change anytime soon.

Williams returned to practice on Monday, but said he will likely have to deal with the injury -- plantar fasciitis -- all season.

"It's a situation where I don't think it's going to go away until maybe the offseason," Williams said. "We're just going to deal with it and try and grin and bear it."

Williams saw a specialist last week and did not play in the preseason game against Dallas on Saturday night. He will almost assuredly sit out the preseason finale against Houston on Thursday night to rest up for the season opener at San Diego on Sept. 11.

That is, of course, Williams is not suspended for the game stemming from a test for a banned stimulant three years ago. Williams lost a court battle with the NFL over the test, but has yet to be notified if he will be eligible to play when the season begins.

Williams said he felt a little better running around during a light practice on Monday.

"I ran pretty good," Williams said. "It wasn't real physical. It was a lot of hand work and running. It wasn't too bad. I needed to run."

With his versatility as both a pass rusher and run stopper, the former All-Pro tackle is critical to the Vikings' defense. Head coach Leslie Frazier said he is "pretty optimistic" that Williams will be ready physically when the season starts.

"He moved around fairly well," Frazier said. "Much better than I anticipated."
                      Thanks Ted!
