Packers release three players
The Green Bay Packers released third-year TE Spencer Havner, rookie T Theo Sherman and third-year WR Brett Swain. The transactions were announced Sunday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.
Havner (HAY-vner) played in 21 games with one start during his three seasons (2008-10) with Green Bay, catching seven passes for 112 yards (16.0 avg.) and four TDs in 2009.
Swain, a seventh-round choice of the Packers in 2008, played in 22 games with one start in 2009-10 and caught six passes for 72 yards (12.0 avg.) last season.
Sherman signed with the Packers as a non-drafted free agent on July 28.

I think this means there will be no big-name release (like Ryan Grant, as some speculated). Usually Thompson makes those early so the vet has a better chance to hook on with another team.
So: Peprah makes it, Grant makes it. That's bad news Bears for Saine and MD Jennings."The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."

Be interesting to see if Swain gets a look see elsewhere. It's early enough that he could crack another roster. All this talk about the talent of our WR corps, let's see if anyone else is truly interested in our cast-offs.--
Imagine for a moment a world without hypothetical situations...
