The only concern I have is that McCarthy's challenge system seems to consist entirely of seat of the pants decision making. At least in this case.

the way the refs are quick-running the clock, sometimes a coach may to have to do it this way instead of waiting for a replay. timely info is the key.

That was my impression as well. Rodgers was sure it was a touchdown, and the game was not in doubt at that point, so why not?
