  • Swain signed by 49ers

The 49ers held a Gong Show workout for receivers on Tuesday, and a former member of the defending Super Bowl champions won the check for $516.32.

Swain beat out a few receivers including TJ Houshmandzadeh. Get er' done, Brett!!!!!! I always liked him, but he had no chance on our roster.

He's not horrid, but if he catches more than 8 passes from here on out, I'd be shocked. Good STer though.

Swain is young and brings good ST value, which is more than the over-the-hill names bring these days. They seem to be making good football decisions out in SF.

Bad job Brando, you were supposed to post this under the title "Brett Signs!!! Back in the NFL!!" or something like that.

Good luck to Swain, especially against Detroit.

Swede: My expertise in this area is extensive. The essential difference between a "battleship" and an "aircraft carrier" is that an aircraft carrier requires five direct hits to sink, but it takes only four direct hits to sink a battleship.

This troll is lucky to find a roster spot. Big time choker.

On the roster too long. There was also mention of Wes Welker attached to this pathetic loser.

                      Pathetic loser? Whoa.

I feel like he hasn't risen to quite that level of venom. A not-very-good receiver. A JAG. A try-hard guy. A very poor man's Wes Welker. No, a poor man's Bill Schroeder.

But a pathetic loser? That's harsh.

Well, he was good enough to get the last WR spot on a Super Bowl team. That's better than a lot of others in the league.

Pathetic loser? The 5th WR who is a ST player? Really?
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Because of his special teams play, not for his receiving skills. Any other receiver could have taken his spot and no one would have even noticed.
