24 HOURS TO GAME DAY; and here is our next challenge
Yes, they have had their rough edges lately, but da Chargers are fighting for their lives and this game will be a fight.
Going into this season, Philip Rivers was thought to be one of the most clutch QB's in the NFL. He's been missing a few things lately......Sproles....a healthy Gates.....and a healthy Vincent Jackson.
Sproles isn't coming back, but a healthy Gates is on his way and Green Bay certainly has no safety that is qualified to carry his Jock Strap.
On Defense, expect the Dominator to show a lot of looks that will match up Charles Woodsen with Antonio Gates. Unfortunately, that will lead to Tyrone Williams and Sam Shields being matched up with two stellar WR's in Vincent Jackson and Malcome Floyd, and on the road they will struggle. The Chargers have had basically the same OL the past three years and it's decent, certainly decent enough to give Philip Rivers to shred the Packers secondary.......which.....BTW, ranks 31st out of 32 teams in giving up 289 passing yards per game. Fortunately, turmovers have save a subpar Packers defense at times from disaster this year. Ain't happening tomorrow. The Chargers will use a mix of short passes and off balance runs. We'll see a healthy dose of running and Antonio Gates mixed in with some effective deep balls. They will score, and they will score often.
On Offense, expect the Packers to move the ball pretty consistently. The Chargers rank near the bottom in terms of sacks and turnovers, which has been at the heart of their inability to be remotely consistent. The recipe from stopping the Packers Offense is rushing four and getting to AROD; I don't think the Chargers have the depth to do that. Expect
AROD to use a lot of different receivers in shredding the Chargers secondary. While they have one of the best CB's in football in da Jammer, they just don't have the depth to cover all of our weapons.
All of this spells out a high scoring game in the high 20's to 30's. The Packers seem pretty dam relaxed. The undefeated talk is starting to hit the National Media. The Chargers absolutely have to win this game, and a struggling AFC team with a ton of talent in a near must win scenario at home is not good news.
Rivers is Mr Clutch. Expect Big Scoring. Expect a bad call that da homers will be yelling about in here. Crosby's perfection has now been written about in the newspapers; which means he's going to miss a key kick soon.
Plus, what is NOT to like about the Chargers ?? Let's all say it together ???
This one is going to be a nailbiter. It's a playoff game for the Chargers and a trap game for da Pack.
Da Chargers Stay in the Playoffs.
Crosby misses a 4th quarter field goal that sends Tony yelling for his head again !
Chargers 34
Pack 31
Take it to the Bank
Whammy Live on !
