I was going to say, Woodson didn't look bad in the SD game. He got flagged a few times on 3 penalties that were either dubious or OPI outright. Other than that, his name wasn't called, which is pretty much what you ask of a corner, right?

Shields on the other hand, is getting eaten alive out there.

Woodson was on Gates early too. In fact, one of the adjustments after some long completions to WRs in the first half was to pull Wood off Gates some and put a LB on him. Woodson came back to Gates later in the game.

But the reality is that the "W" position is his, and he appears to be losing it. The Packers have let Bush run it, but it's not the same. For Woodson to run his "W" position, a lot of other guys have to play their position straight up, by the book.

I think this is Capers' way of hiding Bush from being attacked in coverage when he's on the field. Earlier this year Whitt said that they were very conscious about making sure they put Bush in positions where he can succeed on D. Bush can't survive covering on the perimeter as well as Woodson, who has lost a step, but his instincts and ball skills are light years better than Bush's.

Or maybe Matthews at this point would make the better rover, and Woodson has to stick with a more mundane assignment.

So gates is always a coverage problem for every team unless he is doubled. We choose not to double him, so he got his yards. I am more concerned about what tolbert did. He kept moving after second and third contact, so what will NYG and Oak do with there big backs against us?

I am not really worried about Carson Palmer for OAK. If Eli is on one of his hot streaks we could have a hard time containing their O. Luckily our O can put up 40+ a game so we should be OK.

PS- If Eli is playing like his usual 17-30, 245, 1 TD, 1 INT I am not worried.
