Why not just quit the game right now and be done with it? We are going to lose by 100...and will have to go through Detroit AND New Orleans to get to the Super Bowl, which I think is the kiss of death for a defense like ours. Bad mistake to not try to win this game.

When you sit all your stars, there is no way in hell your team is going to come out focused. The coach has already sent the message that the game is meaningless and isn't worth fighting for. How do you motivate yourself to play at that point? If your coach doesn't think it is meaningful, why should you?

Most of the guys playing are playing for their future. If that doesn't motivate them, then nothing MM can say will matter.
