http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/01/2...ame-green.htmlOriginally posted by pbmax View PostI suspect he will be tempted to keep the D coaches since that part of the endeavor there has been pretty productive (an even better situation than Bates would have been for McCarthy). Anyone know if they kept everyone but Sparano under contract or did they throw the whole group out the door?
EDIT: The Miami Herald reports that the Dolphins would like to offer Mike McCoy the DC job. But as he was a candidate for the Head Coaching job, that might be awkward. And I am not sure Philbin wants to hire Stephen Ross' second choice which would make him the natural lightning rod for all the inevitable replacement talk if they should struggle. A source close to McCoy supposedly said that it has not been broached, but it would make some sense for him. It would be a lateral move from DC to DC, but rather than run John Fox's defense, he would get to run his own.
The Dolphins have interest in having Bowles serve as defensive coordinator – which was vacated by Mike Nolan’s move to Atlanta - but had not made him an offer as of Friday evening. Philbin reportedly is receptive to the idea of keeping Bowles, who was the Dolphins’ secondary coach the past four years.I can't run no more

Guess sarcasim dont translate well online.Originally posted by bobblehead View PostHow many fumbles and dropped passes did philbin have....i didn't see any.
I meant that Philbin must mean alot to the team because his loss affected the whole team, especially the offense. It's like it took their fire.

Reading comprehension failed me again. I thought the first mention was McCoy and Bowles was the alternative. Not that that makes sense either, as McCoy is the OC in Denver.Originally posted by Joemailman View Post
So Bowles would really be Bates, including a stint as interim HC of the Phins.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

I've never been impressed with him, but I wish him well. Nfl network this morning said he has spoken to Tom Clements to become their OC, and Perry in being their DC."I would love to have a guy that always gets the key hit, a pitcher that always makes his best pitch and a manager that can always make the right decision. The problem is getting him to put down his beer and come out of the stands and do those things." - Danny Murraugh

I don't see Clements going to Miami as their OC unless Miami agrees to a trade for Flynn.I can't run no more

Philbin was the Packers 'everything.' He was the synthetic Castrol oil in their engine case, the silicone ball bearings in their Accuride drawer slides, the vasoline up their -----. Now he's GONE! GONE! AHHHHHHHRRRRGGGH!
They can't possibly carry on without him. Oh, THE HUMANITY!"Never, never ever support a punk like mraynrand. Rather be as I am and feel real sympathy for his sickness." - Woodbuck

What is that crap?!!!Originally posted by woodbuck27 View PostOhh yes. Let's reduce it to what's relative. The consummate argument to serve any need to be correct or ignore an issue.
TT and MM have built an increadible team and coaching staff. Other NFL teams are going to want our talent. Period.
Are you saying that Philbin shouldn't want the opportunity to be a head coach? Why wouldn't he leave when the opportunity comes? There are only 32 head coaching spots and GM spots in the NFL. Are McKenzie and Philbin supposed to wait until TT and MM retire before they get their shot?
The is only 1 OC and DC per team. Now we can protect one of our best position coach by moving him to OC from QB coach. But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

When Philbin flew home to Green Bay from Miami after interviewing for the first time with owner Stephen Ross and general manager Jeff Ireland about two weeks ago, he said he was “at 30,000 feet in the air and felt great about things.”
Then, his son died and “we had a beautiful service eight days ago,” Philbin said. “I can’t tell you how touched we were as a family by the tremendous outpouring from the community.” He coached in the Packers loss last week vs. the Giants, and afterward, he said he felt dejected with what had happened to his life.
“I came home Sunday night and the TV hadn’t been on for a week,” Philbin said. “I don’t know, maybe the Dolphins had already hired a head coach. I talked to my son, Tim, and he asked me what the Dolphins were doing.
Said Joe: “I have no idea what they’re doing.”
“You’re going to go after the job, aren’t you?”
“I don’t know what I’m going to do.”
“You’d better go after that job. Your son, Michael, would have wanted you to go after the job.”
And that immediately changed Joe Philbin’s perspective. Snapped him, for the time being at least, out of his funk. “That,” he said, “was the start of me getting back and getting moving again.”I can't run no more

It's pretty widely reported the Miami really liked some of its defensive coaches and Philbin was ok with keeping some of them on his staff and that factored into the decision. Maybe he won't purge our staff.
MM, you can name Clements the OC anytime now......plzTERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

I hope Clements stays, but I'm actually not that worried about it. He's already being interviewed for at least one HC job, so if the Packers don't lose him this year, there's a good chance they will next year. For all we know, MM has someone on his staff who he thinks would make as good an OC as Clements.I can't run no more
