It's a Basketball team, not a fungus! That's what we used to say, circa 1979.

Good story about the "Rainbow Jumper"

I was at a basketball camp as a kid, and Jon McGlocklin was a guest speaker. He had this 10-20 minute talk on basketball, hard work, character. Pretty standard stuff. As he's talking to us, he's shooting jump shots starting from just inside the foul line and moving back. By the time his talk is over, he's hit say 40-50 shots in a row and is draining them from 20+ feet out. The guy has to be around 40 years old, and is sweating, with slightly labored breathing. His talk over, he takes questions. Some numbnut seventh-grader from the front row asks "When are you going to show us a 'Rainbow Jumper?' McGlocklin looks at the kids as if he just accused McGlocklin of being a serial killer. In total disgust he says "That's what I've been doing."

Even back then kids couldn't listen and watch at the same time.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Jim Irvin and Max McGee were just the best. The alltime sweet & sour combo.

I don't mind those guys dying, it happens, but they never should have been permitted to retire.

I actually thought the same thing when I heard the news.

You must be a big hit at eulogies.

Harlan: "I'm going to really miss Uncle Bill - what a guy. He was always my favorite."

Fellow mourner: "His name was Hal."

He always seemed to be more worried about making his plane after the game than providing a meaningful analysis of the action on the field.
I was overjoyed when Larrivee replaced him.
