  • Wisconsin DOT planning ahead for depressed, drunken Packers fans during Packers-less Super Bowl

by Matt Wild January 31, 2012 (Partial feels the fire. )

We all know the hoary urban legend about a spike in domestic violence following a Packers loss, but what happens when the team doesn’t even play? What happens if—God forbid—the Pack fails to turn a stellar season into a thrilling Super Bowl repeat? The Wisconsin Department Of Transportation doesn’t seem to be taking any chances when it comes to this strictly hypothetical situation, and is issuing warnings to distraught fans who may be planning on having a few too many on Super Bowl Sunday.
According to the Associated Press, the DOT will air a federally funded commercial during the big game detailing the dangers of drunken driving. (We can only assume it’ll be as entertaining and not-at-all sickening as the countless other “leaked” Super Bowl ads.) State Patrol Maj. Sandra Huxtable notes that fans should plan ahead for Sunday’s decidedly Packers-less showdown, and make sure there are plenty of non-alcoholic drinks and food available. It’s all good advice, of course, and what depressing Super Bowl party would be complete without some Cheetos and O’Douls?

Snake had a great SB all around town with his girl, friends, parties and bars last year. Snake hates the Pats n Giants but his better half is a huge SB fan so we'll eat well and watch it at a nice locale much less drunk this time.

Torrent SB XXXI and SB XLV. Watch those instead. That's what I plan on doing. I'd rather watch reruns of victorious Green Bay Packer teams than a rerun of Pats/Gnats.

[QUOTE=George Cumby] ...every draft (Ted) would pick a solid, dependable, smart, athletically limited linebacker...the guy who isn't doing drugs, going to strip bars, knocking around his girlfriend or making any plays of game changing significance.

            Where's the option:
Ignore the Superbowl because without the Packers the game has no meaning.

I got a square. I just don't know how to read it, so someone will have to tell me on Monday if I won.

I'm an NFL football fan. This Super Bowl matchup is looking very good. I'm going to enjoy this Super Bowl game. I survived the 1970's and 80's as a packer fan. This season we had to lose with that ugly 'D'. Predicting a Packer loss in this years playoffs was as easy as predicting rain in April.

How anyone could act all upset or depressed is like hating your first girlfriend for dumping you.

If your acting that way no wonder she did. Grow up and 'at least' try, to act like a football fan. (-:

I never had a girl friend like that. My gate doesn't swing that way. I like football just fine. Its just that I don't care for either team.
