Theoretically, it sounds good. Except you keep giving the offense at extra 5 yards and chances at competing the play anyways. It's not like a play hasn't been made against 12 men before. Coaches are never going to do that on purpose. I'm not sure Brady could have gotten it to the end zone without those 5 extra yards. He's kind of a noodle arm.

Two or three times to force a hail mary is easy to envision and execute. I would rather face the noodle arm on a hail mary with 7 seconds left than give him 15 more yards to drive with 30 seconds more to do it.

Because he is a idiot. He's the guy that mussed up Raymond Berry's hair and shook his shoulders when he passed by with the trophy. That's disrespect #1. Then he leans in and on national television spits on the Lombardi Trophy. That's disrespect #2. Brainless and classless.

It's stupid to have this habit on walking the trophy through the players on the way to the podium. In the excitement of everything there's no telling what they will do for the camera. The trophy belongs to the team owner. He should get first possession of it. After the presentation, then hand it off to the players for their celebration.

Shaking Raymond Berry I can understand. Same with tossling his hair. But still unclear on why he would spit. Not saying he didn't, but it seems incongruous with the other two actions. What is fun about spitting on the trophy?

All in all, I am OK with the Giants winning. it helps support my contention that the NFC is, and has been, the better conference. But also because Patriots fans (esp. Brady fans) are some of the most irrational folks I have ever met. Giants fans are like Yankee fans. Very good front runners and keep quiet when they are down. No problem with the Giants fans I know.

I know several Patriot fans down here and most of them are insufferable. Brady makes me gag so I shed no tears for that bunch. This wasn't a fun game for me. Every time those damn Giants got a first down I felt so sad wishing that was US in that game instead of them.

I didn't care who won, as long as Tom Brady lost.

That Giants rb (Bradshaw?) was a major dummy for not getting on ground before endzone. Guess instincts got best of him.

I find the Patriots extremely boring to watch. Seems like 90% of their plays are pass plays that travel no more than 5 yards down field. Brady is one of the best ever, but he really is a glorified dink and dunker.

ya, I never watch Patriots games when they are whupping-up on somebody. Brady is so damn boring and surgical.

Honestly, it's tough to argue Hoody is good at the evaluation of talent
He's the best coach in the history of the NFL
He makes a lot of nice draft day trades and finds free agents to sign that always help his team
But his draft picks are fortunate to be called average

I guess you didn't see it on NBC's coverage because I couldn't disagree more. No, a 22-year old rookie doesn't get to put his hands on and rustle a nearly 79-year old Hall of Famer and mess up his appearance as he is carrying out his official duties on live television. Spitting on the trophy was equally stupid. Both acts are dumb and disrespectful of the game.
