Apropos of nothing, I downloaded a program called Stellarium from Source Forge, an open source project to give you a laptop program for identifying objects in the sky from wherever you are on the planet.
It works beautifully and my kids are outside looking at Venus and Jupiter as I watch the Super Bowl.
