JMF's agent made some noises last week that if Fin was tagged as a TE, they would appeal to an arbitrator. His contention was that Fin had more snaps as a WR & should be tagged as such.

For one thing, I didn't know an arbitrator was a part of the NFL process.

TE is the low man on the Totem Pole so I can't blame him.

I think he's gonna lose that appeal. Its estimated he lined up 54% of the time as a TE.

if fin wants to be paid like a wr, then i say pay him like a wr

a number 3 wr on the team who had 55 catches for 750 yards or so with 8 td's and 28 drops

we gave james jones like 2 or 3 mill a year for that role with that type of production last offseason

What about for punter? Or long Snapper? Inquiring minds want to know.

It appears that the recession has hit the NFL.

if fin really did have more snaps at wr than his agent probably has a case and that's bad for the Pack. i find that hard to believe though.

I say tell his agent if he wants to get paid as a wr he should hold on to the ball like a wr and not let it slip threw his fingers so much. then we would have no problem giving him the big bucks

You know who else lined up as a WR a lot in the NFL? Running back Marshall Faulk. A running back. Finley would lose that appeal, but he won't even get the appeal heard in the first place.

I would love to dig up the old threads on how with a new CBA player salaries would still go up and up and up. Or maybe it was the $1,000,000,000 owner take away thread.
But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

I heard on the NFL Network Finley's agent was exploring this with the NFL and argues Finley played sixty percent of the snaps at WR. It's kind of unprecedented and I thought if that hit the GB media Finley could get flogged in the local press after his subpar performance this year
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

Finley's contention has been covered quite a bit, so I don't think his agent putting a number on it changes the coverage much.

I know there have been more cases, but the two I can remember involved DE/OLBs. Ware and Suggs perhaps? I remember one as a loss for the player and the other that resulted in a negotiated settlement as prelude to a FA deal. Its an interesting question because as a WR, he isn't worth that tag. But he might eventually get that kind of money.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

He has miles to go to get top WR money. His hands, route running and speed need a lot of work... well, pretty much everything.

Man, where did his agent come up with 60 percent? That's an awful lot of lining up out wide. Considering the packers pass on about 70% of the plays, that means he only lines up as a TE during 10 % of the passing plays. That's not a whole lot. Me thinks his agents numbers might not be right.
                              - Once again, adding absolutely nothing to the conversation.
