If that's really the market for Flynn, I could see franchising Flynn resulting in other teams having TT over a barrel in the sense that they had to give up Flynn and another player to get a draft pick that's not a day 3 pick next year.
I'm wondering if that's why New England had to throw in Mike Vrabel in the Matt Cassel trade.
Painfully obvious that we valued Matt Flynn way more than the rest of the NFL
Apparently, but I think we will be proven right. I will Flynn will be better than the QB's of some teams who did not pursue him.

I agree, but I think TT is absolutely vindicated in his decision to not franchise Flynn. Can you imagine the angst in Packerland if TT had cut DD and Clifton in order to make room to franchise Flynn, meanwhile Langford and Wells sign with the Rams, Myers signs with the Texans, Wimbley is a free agent, and Ted can't do anything in FA because he can't find someone to take Flynn off his hands for more than a fourth round pick?
No doubt TT made the right decision. I have to believe the availability of Manning hurt TT's chances of being able to arrange a deal prior to having to make the decision on whether to franchise Flynn.

Perhaps, but it is due to the epic flops of Cassell and Kolb that Flynn got screwed. Had he gone into FA 3 years ago, he would've commanded a king's ransom. Teams are now a little scared of taking a guy who is successful in another system, actually now having the thought that it won't automatically translate to theirs, which is probably more reasonable than their previous belief that any QB who looks good for 6 games is a franchise QB in the making.
If Flynn turns out to be a success, the next guy will probably end up getting a king's ransom again. It's all "what have you done for me lately" in the NFL.
It's such a GOOD feeling...13 TIME WORLD CHAMPIONS!!
Part of this could be Flynn's representatives noticing how lukewarm the market was for Flynn and wanting another bite at the apple after the new TV contracts bump the salary cap up, and when there's not a first ballot hall of famer at QB available as an unrestricted free agent.
I think Flynn got a good contract for what he is - a guy who has shown some promise, but not given enough of a chance to prove it. A ~$20mil/3yr deal is a long way from a 7th round pick who was supposed to be a camp arm while Brohm secured the backup role.
That contract is more than a 2nd round pick will get this year, that tells you something.

Imagine for a moment a world without hypothetical situations...
It didn't help Flynn to hit the market in the first flat cap year ever, either. 2 starts plus mop up time just wasn't enough. But I am pretty sure unless Pete Carrol has completely lost his mind that Flynn wins the job. He should get every opportunity in practice since he is making the most money. And his beard will go well with Charlie Whitehurst's.
My only concern for Flynn is WR where banged up Sidney Rice is option 1A-1D.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.
He did address it the best he could. And then you questioned whether he was a drunk Irishman.
Perhaps you should apologize for that first, then maybe Sheep will apologize for calling you a penis.
sheepshead called me 'a penis'. Well I hadn't noticed. If I did it wouldn't bother me as why should such as that insult me? What merit is in the insult? Certainly not enough merit for any response.
Any man that calls another 'a penis' is certainly ignorant...or grossly lacking in terms of knowledge and anatomy.
I'll add this... The ignorant can never insult a man of composure. Also any man should be forgiving for having a 'bad day'.

I aplogize for the way certain member insist on acting. I apologize that I am a member that has to engage attacks and accusations. I apologize if my attempts to do so do not meet the conforming standards of the powers to be.... for any members here that are confused by me.
I just aplogize for 'the negative attitudes', that I observe from some members here that I do my best to contend with. I'm here trying to enjoy being a footbal fan. Dear Lord help us all.
As far as pissing on me...that will never stop 'as concerns me'. My enjoyment of Packerrats and their pissing on me simply comes with the territory. I'm cool and will somehow handle these posters with some decency and manners.
i want to get along with everyone who's a member at Packerrats. I realize that's as in any community unrealistic. I will continue to do my best not to allow these matter compromise Packerrats for the greater good of this forum.
