Supposedly it's a 3-year deal for more than Bush's last 3-year contract, but it's not starter's money (Bush would have taken an offer from another team if it was a starting situation and starting money). Apparently the Rams, Cowboys, Cardinals, and Jets all wanted to sign Bush.

I have thought he takes way too much flak for his role. And I am glad he is back. I wonder how seriously he will compete for CB time with Shields, et al. Because while he more than holds up his end of the special teams play, its hard to get excited about this DB signing because he doesn't solve a starting problem on the defense.

The situation in San Fran is awkward to say the least but time does heal. I think that he is forced to return to the 49ers and for what they offere. he has to be a PRO.... AND SUCK IT UP.

The 49ers have offered Smith $24 million over three years, with roughly $10 million guaranteed. This report describes the damage control attempt by the 49ers HC in talks with Alex Smith. His ego is bruised according to other reports on NFL TOTAL ACCESS.

Alex Smith isn't pleased with the offer. That will not wash IMO unless he's paid more for 'the suffering' (-:
