3. Linebacker Manny Lawson — The 22nd pick in the 2006 draft, Lawson has disappointed as an NFL pass rusher with 16 sacks through six seasons. Lawson is a freak athlete at 6-foot-5, 240 with low-4.4 speed and a 40-inch vertical, however, and he’s wicked smart (43 Wonderlic score). Lawson can set the edge against the run and has always been effective in coverage. With experience in both 3-4 and 4-3 schemes, Lawson should be generating more interest than he has so far.Originally posted by woodbuck27 View Posthttp://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...on-the-market/

Upnorth. Is the weather nice out your way today?
I'm in Honey Harbour, Ontario. Location: SE Georgian Bay, ONT near Orillia, Ont.
It's about 25 C here. SUNNY and HOT!
77 Degrees F. Very nice. Time for more yardwork. (-:
We have gotten as high as 21 out here (70ish to you yankee's!) and lovin this spring!.

Man....I need to start commuting or something. 70ish is warm for summer up here.
Our lows have still been in the single digits and I have 5 feet of snow in my yard.
Better than this though.....

The Green Bay Packers have interest in free agent linebacker Manny Lawson, according to Tyler Dunne of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinal who cites a league source. The two sides have been in discussions.
Lawson, the 22nd overall pick by San Francisco in the 2006 draft, has 292 tackles and 16 sacks in six NFL seasons. The outside linebacker hasn't rushed the passer as well as expected at this level but has been strong in the run gameLombardi told Starr to "Run it, and let's get the hell out of here!" - 'Ice Bowl' December 31, 1967

Hes fast but hes not that good in coverage. He is for sure an upgrade over what we have and hope TT gets it done.Originally posted by Lurker64 View PostLawson is good against the run and he's good in coverage. Name two things any of that three is good at (and Zombo's sack dance doesn't count).

Couchiching Terriers of the OPJAHL in those days had a few pretty good players, and played in Orillia, as I recall. OPJAHL also had teams in Collingswood, Parry Sound (Bobby Ore Arena), Durham and lots of places around Toronto. Spent time in Barrie watching OHL Then there were the NOJHL teams. I think I hit most of the Junior A teams from all around Toronto north to Sudburry and west to the Sault.Originally posted by Upnorth View PostI was posted to Borden a few years back and lived in Barrie. I still go back to Parry Sound to visit now and then. Beautiful area. The new highway from Barrie north is awesome!

Some say he is pretty good in coverage. Have you actually seen him, or are you recounting reports by writers? I know I haven't seen enough of SF to have an opinion, and when I have seen them I sure wasn't paying any particular attention to him. Interesting prospect to have Kevin Greene work with.Originally posted by Brandon494 View PostHes fast but hes not that good in coverage.
