I've thought a lot about him lately. That sounded weird...Originally posted by Fritz View PostAny love for Jerel Worthy by the Packerrats? I wouldn't hate it, but I'd really like to land a frame guy if we draft a DE in the first. We've got a whole lot of technique guys with less than ideal frames (which is what Worthy would be), and literally no frame guys who need to work on technique.Originally posted by Fritz View PostAny love for Jerel Worthy by the Packerrats? I'd rather have Brockers, Still, Cox, and Reyes than Worthy.
I think Worthy can be a good player, but his best position (and high board) should be at the 3-tech spot.</delurk>

Chad Reuter (3-30-12) goes to Ted's favorite lineman college to select the Packer's 1st round pick.
Shea McClellin, DE, Boise St.
Actually, if he does draft McClellin, it will be to play OLB as he is listed as 260.I can't run no more

I thought there was another lineman from there but it turns out it was only Korey Hall. I agree if this kid is the pick he would be OLB, but listed in college as DE.Originally posted by Joemailman View PostDaryn Colledge and ?

The odds on TT moving to a higher position to secure a certain defensive player is too difficult for me to even consider.Originally posted by pbmax View PostFor all the mock drafts that we will forget about 25 hours after the first round.
But for now, the replacement at Pro Football Weekly for the dearly departed shut in Joel Buschbaum, Nolan Nawrocki has the Packers taking Andre Branch at 28.
I just noticed the Patriots sitting at 27 ahead of the Pack with New Orleans pick. Odds on Ted wanting to get in front of them?
http://www.profootballweekly.com/201.../mock-draft-20
Instead I'm looking at positions #25 through #29 to see which players may more likely be available; the cost to move to #25 (the Denver Broncos pick) from our #28 pick to get that player.
The numerical value of pick #25 (Denver Broncos) is 720 and the Packers #28 pick at 660. The difference = 60.
To move to pick #25. Ted Thompson would have to offer his 4th round pick #123 (value 49) and 6th round pick at #197 (value 12.6); have the Broncos accept it. TT would still have 10 picks with all else remaining the same.
We may speculate on what TT may do 'till the cows come in'. I'm confident that he will do what's exactly necessary for our team.** Since 2006 3 X Pro Pickem' Champion; 4 X Runner-Up and 3 X 3rd place.

JSO and Silverstein have a roundup of Packer picks in round 1:
Clark Judge, CBSSports.com : Peter Konz, C, Wisconsin (4/3).... X Nope based in need otherwise. Yet... TT may take him if BPA.
Pat Kirwan, CBSSports.com : Jerel Worthy, DT, Michigan State (4/3) .... **
Second round No. 59 -- Michael Brewster, C/OG Ohio State
Pete Prisco, CBSSports.com : Andre Branch, DE, Clemson (4/3) .... Prisco and Banks like Andre Branch to us. ***
Will Brinson, CBSSports.com : Peter Konz, C, Wisconsin (4/3) .... X .... Please see above assessment.
Don Banks, SI.com : Andre Branch, DE, Clemson (4/4) .... ***
Brian Baldinger, NFL Network : Shea McClellin, DE, Boise St. (4/4) *
Mel Kiper, ESPN Insider : Nick Perry, LB, USC (4/4)... ****
Wes Bunting, National Football Post : Nick Perry, DE/OLB, Southern Cal (4/4) .... ****
* OLB Shea McLellan ... Boise State:Height: 6-3. Weight: 260. 40 Time: 4.62. 10-Yd Split: 1.57. Bench: 19. Vertical: 31.5. Broad: 9-10.
Arm: 32 3/4. Hand: 10 1/8.
Projected Round (2012): 2-3 ..... Comment woodbuck27: This seems correct.
3/20/12: " McClellin improved his draft stock with a quality season, but it was hurt when he weighed in at 248 pounds at the Senior Bowl. At that weight, McClellin is really only an option to be a 3-4 outside linebacker and does not have the size necessary to be a 4-3 base end.
In the month leading up to the Combine, McClellin added 12 pounds. He had a excellent performance in Indianapolis with a fast 40 and a great showing in the field drills. At the heavier weight, some 4-3 teams may consider McClellin for end, but he still will fit best as a 3-4 outside linebacker at the next level. " Source
http://walterfootball.com/draft2012OLB3-4.php (Typ.)
Comment woodbuck27: OLB Shea McLellan would be 'a reach' at pick #28.
** DT Jerel Worthy , Michigan State ... Height: 6-3. Weight: 305. Projected 40 Time: 4.99. Projected Round (2013): Top 15 Pick.
9/2/11: " Jerel Worthy is the consensus top defensive tackle in the draft class.
Note woodbuck27: See DT Fletcher Cox DT, Mississippi State who's moved up draft boards like a rocket. Back to Jerel Worthy:
" As a prospect, Worthy has some similarities to 2011 first-rounder Corey Liuget. Neither had big stat lines in 2010, yet both are considered to be game changers. Last year, Worthy had eight tackles for a loss and four sacks. Worthy has a good get off and is disruptive. Offenses showed their respect for Worthy by sending frequent double teams his way. Entering his junior season, Worthy could move his stock towards the very top of the draft if he is able to increase his production. If he decides to stay in school, it would be surprising but he would likely enter his senior season as the top tackle available. " (Typ. Please see above)
Comment woodbuck27: IMO this DT will be available close to our #28 pick but if TT covets him he may have to trade up. Jerel Worthy is a real possibility as our next draft pick.
*** OLB / DE Andre Branch : http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings...2012&genpos=DE
Comment woodbuck27: This prospect is raw by reports I'm reading. He's certainly a strong possibility as TT's guy at #28.
**** DE/OLB or OLB/DE Nick Perry USC ..... http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1631896
Comment woodbuck27: I like this prospect at #28 and I'll add DE, Whitney Mercilus as another legitimate option for TT to pick.

Weaknesses Jared Crick: " Could still stand to add bulk – Could get engulfed by some NFL linemen – Needs to be more consistent week to week – Torn pectoral muscle may drop him a bit on some boards. " Fr. LINK above

It would be quite fascinating to see how he's got those set up and separated. Still wouldn't mean a lot to me since I don't really watch college ball. But it's be fascinating nonetheless.Originally posted by Fritz View PostWouldn't you love to see Ted's tiers? No longer the member of any fan clubs.
