The latest concussion lawsuit against the NFL has been filed by a guy who likely knows more than he care to about the legal system.

Getty Images The latest concussion lawsuit against the NFL has been filed by a guy who likely knows more than he care to about the legal system. Former Packers tight end Mark Chmura, who stood trial for rape in 2001, is the lead plaintiff in a 28-player complaint filed Thursday in Philadelphia by Gene Locks of the Locks Law Firm. The complaint is available at NFLConcussionLitigation.com.

Maybe he could blame his hot tub indiscretion on reduced mental capacity.

Now Easterling kills himself, apparently from depression due to concussion-induced dimentia. Wife is continuing a lawsuit....

Wasn't Buck Torkelson the Commander of the Air Force Base in Dr. Strangelove?

On a related, and I hope not gruesome note, has the rate of suicides among former players gone up or has it been consistent? I wonder if the generation of players 40-50 are experiencing something different than other, older players? I know its been all over the news now, but I just don't remember this many suicides among older players. It was an autopsy on Webster that started all this, but his death was reported by the Steelers as a cardiac arrest.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

I wish Florio would put that law degree to use and handicap the outcome of this suit.

He specialized in contracts, not tort, so its out of his realm of specialty. Still, I agree, you would think he might know some people.

His best posts were always when he used that law degree to tear apart contracts to reduce them to plain English. He also did pretty good work on the Vick case, even though I don't think he practiced criminal law.
