      • Daniels fits the versatile DE/DT rotation guy that we needed.

He can rotate outside on base downs, and provide inside pass rush along with Raji.

What I would really like now is a space eater inside to spell Raji more...

        We're makin progress though

          Jerone McMillian Strong Safety ,Maine

          Overview

One of the top prospects to emerge from Maine in years, McMillian is a strong and physical safety who will be valued fairly high by an NFL team that needs help in its run defense.

He is an athlete who at times can look stiff in his movements when covering the pass.

When it comes to getting involved in the run game, McMillian brings it full-go every time and is a real aggressive player. His value lies in his ability to support the run and be a sure tackler, and he has sixth-round value based on this.

He will likely be a make-it guy as a late-round selection for a team as he will be a reliable backup option early on and a serious contributor on special teams.

Without doubt he is a player who needs to be heavily involved with the front seven and will be attractive to blitz-heavy defenses.

          • Daniels looks out of place in the Packer 3-4, but they must be thinking about nickel.

              • I had the notes on McMillian in the "safety dance" thread.

                Jerron McMillian, SS, Maine
                5'11” 203 lbs Round 7
Tackle-machine with an NFL body. Not much of a ball-hawk but the Packers worked him out so they must at least like him as a special teamer with upside.

I think the reason you take McMillian is not "run defense". I think he mostly played SS because they already had a FS in Maine.

His combine workout was off the charts. 4.36 forty, 4.22 shuttle, and 6.69 cone. The kid can move.

ESPN said the complete opposite...he's a ballhawk with great range but has problems tackling.

                    • Had over 90 tackles last year defending the run. I thought he'd be a low round pick, the Packers must really love him.

If you just put him in as one of the DL in the nickel, he's going to get in the backfield. I think it's a specialist pick, the question is whether that's worth a roster spot.

                              • McMillan visited the Packers pre draft.

Ran a 40 as fast as 4.35 but was 4.5+ at the combine.

                                Code:
                                Height & Weight: 5'11 - 203 lbs.

                                2012 NFL Combine Results
                                40-Yard Dash	4.56
                                Bench press	17
                                Vertical jump	36.5
                                Broad jump	10'0
