Some guy names Drew Smith from Drew Smith Sports is touting an interview with Dom Capers and he repeats no plans to move Woodson to safety. He was Retweeted by Ty Dunne so I guess he is not just some crank with a broadband connection.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Bruce Irvin was not as much of a reach as previously thought, if you believe the report that the Packers had him ranked as a 1st round talent. The same as 7 or 8 other teams (including the Jets Bears, Packers and 49ers).
As folks in Seattle continue to fret about the fact that their favorite football team possibly frittered a first-round pick away on a one-trick pony who won't be big enough to excel at the NFL level, more evidence emerges that the Seahawks weren't the only team who believe that Bruce Irvin can play…
Mel Kiper called the decision of the Seahawks to take West Virginia defensive end Bruce Irvin with the 15th pick in the draft "mind boggling."

I'm not sure but I think Drew Smith is the main sports reporter at Fox 11 in Green Bay.Originally posted by pbmax View PostSome guy names Drew Smith from Drew Smith Sports is touting an interview with Dom Capers and he repeats no plans to move Woodson to safety. With the pass rushers we added one would think bare fans should be worried about the health of THEIR QB Cutler...Originally posted by pbmax View PostConcerning the Thread's Title, this Bears' fan thinks the Bear D are ready to hunt.

Conversation with #Packers DC Dom Capers tonight on the Edge- No plans to move Woodson to safety... as of right now. Too versatile to slot.

Especially when you compare their O-line to the Packers'.Originally posted by Pugger View PostWith the pass rushers we added one would think bare fans should be worried about the health of THEIR QB Cutler...No longer the member of any fan clubs. I'm tired of jinxing players out of the league and into obscurity.

I read Jason Cole mention that the Pack plans on moving Wood to safety next year - I'm sure that's just his shot in the barrel. So far I've heard Capers say that they really like Wood's versatility, I've heard Whitt say that Wood will play any position and now I'm hearing Smith say Capers said Wood will not play safety next year. I don't know what they're going to do, but I like all the confusion and uncertainty around it. I want O-Coordinators guessing what we're going to be doing. As long as Peprah keeps playing at the level he was last year, there's no reason to move Woodson prematurely. Our safeties had over 200 tackles combined last year - just under 20% of the total Packer tackles of the season compared to 13% the prior year and 10% in 09. I think that shows a break down of our tackling in the lower tiers or shows the dramatic shift in how teams play us (From behind, scrambling to keep up with our prolific offense).- Once again, adding absolutely nothing to the conversation.

Our back end gave up 71 passes of over 20 yards last year. I think Peprah's play of last season is the catalyst for moving Wood not a deterrent. CP was lost lots.Originally posted by Smeefers View PostAs long as Peprah keeps playing at the level he was last year, there's no reason to move Woodson prematurely. Fair enough, I'm just not positive that those 71 passes would have been considerably knocked down if it was Collins back there instead. I would like to proposition that the large amount of deep passes could be attributed to the poor pass rush as well, not entirely poor safety play. Deep pass routes, by definition, take longer to develop. I also believe Trammon Williams and Sam Shields relatively poor play hampered the 71 over 20 yards number as well. I think it would be a mistake to point to one man (a back up at that) as the reason we gave up so many deep plays. I also don't think moving a great player from his natural position while he's still playing at a pro bowl level at that position is very wise.Originally posted by Zool View PostOur back end gave up 71 passes of over 20 yards last year. Wood + CB = Pro Bowl.
Wood + SS = Good.
The question you have to ask yourself is what would be best on the field?
If CB Wood + SS Peprah < SS Wood + CB House/Hayword, then you bench Peprah, If it's the other way around, You keep him. Looking at Peprah's stats, it's going to be hard for you to convince me that a rookie or a guy fresh off injured reserve who hasn't played a down in the NFL is going to beat out CP. Pick up that safety from the jets who played at Wisconsin who's still floating around out there and you might convince me.- Once again, adding absolutely nothing to the conversation.

I don't think there's a minimum anything. TT may look for certain characteristics from his players, but I don't think it's an iron clad rule that he follows. I think Height, weight, etc. is the last thing TT looks at, not the first.Originally posted by Scott Campbell View PostDon't the Packers have a minimum height requirement for DB's? Peprah was decent in 2010. He was terrible last year. CB Woodson + S Peprah or CB Shields + S Woodson in base
CB Woodson + S Peprah or CB Hayward + S Woodson in nickel
We barely played dime last year. I'd take either Shields + Woodson or Hayward + Woodson (unless Hayward turns out to be a complete stiff--which I don't think he will be). The way he played last year, I might even take Bush + Woodson."There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. I think his rule is pretty iron clad at CB, and I've heard them talk about it before. I don't believe Thompson has ever taken a "short" corner--not even late in the draft as a flier.Originally posted by Smeefers View PostI don't think there's a minimum anything.
