They don't have to sign him. They have him under contract as soon as his suspension from the NFL ends. Then they'll cut him unless there's some form of miracle from now until then.

While it would be nice to see him back with the Packers, the time off can't have been good for his development--or his body. Somehow I think he has a better chance of showing up in the USFL than the NFL, and even that might be a stretch after two years of likely inactivity. On a human note, hopefully he's had some kind of conversion during his time in prison.

Dammit, you're supposed to come out and say that there are reports that Jolly has taken very good care of himself (prison workouts!) and is sincere in his attempts to go clean. I dont see why he shouldn't be given another chance. Several on here felt Jolly would have stood a better chance at not relapsing if he got to be around the team. At least see what he can bring to the table.
