Goodell isn't going to unsuspend Jolly any time soon. If he wants to play in the league again, he needs to spend the next 10 months working out and assembling his resume for sainthood. If he doesn't rescue at least a dozen stranded kittens from trees, he's got no hope.

I dont see why he shouldn't be given another chance. Several on here felt Jolly would have stood a better chance at not relapsing if he got to be around the team. At least see what he can bring to the table.
Actually that is what I thought was happening from the original article. I didn't see the accurate description of shock parole until later. It must be some Texas thing and the article from the Texas paper just assumed that people know what shock parole is.

I still think zapping the crap out of him repeatedly every time he reaches for codeine might help, in some sort of Pavlovian way. Most standard drug treatments seem to fail miserably.

Dear scientist, you surely must know that this only works if they play a bit of the old Ludwig van at the same time.

By all accounts Jolly is a good kid... he just has the monkey on his back.

If he kept himself in shape? yeah, keep him in the fold. That said, Jolly has to get a handle on his life... if he doesn't, he'll likely reoffend.

Ah, reality. Even IF he's reinstated, as someone here said, that'll take time - interviews and all that. Then there's the question of working himself back into shape.

Mebbe next year. How old will he be then, anyway?

Jolly is 29 now. If he could get reinstated next year, he could still have a few years left.

A few easy things to add:

-Michael Vick and his return to NFL starter
-Fucked up drug laws in this country; especially when they label his possession of cough syrup mixed with mountain dew as 100% codeine (e.g., 600 grams = 21 oz liquid)

This whole thing has sucked - and it isn't over here. This guy needs the NFL and GB - and he won't get there again. Too bad.

                    Here you go, fritz.

Detailed forensic analysis of these two photos lead me to conclude that Jolly is both at his normal playing weight and in fine shape to prepare for football. Just remember, however, that he can't rush the passer worth a lick. But between he and Raji, no screen pass will be safe against the Packer D.

Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

                      He's looking pretty good, considering.

Get him back to GB and away from MFing Houston and close to his support group.

He looks 'a tad confused' in that upper photo. Also a little light. I wonder if he was eating well?

While I appreciate the nod to one of the best from the Showtime era, how will he help the Packers defense?
