However, looking at the numbers, I wonder if the Bears will be susceptible to the run? SD had a 5.8 yard rushing average in the first half. Last week against San Fran - SF gained 150 yards on the ground, with a 3.9 yards rushing average.

Is this a kink in the armor?
You might be on to something.

Well, they've got good penetrating tackles and ends susceptible to the run. Generally, the tackles get enough push that the LBs are free to make up for the DE liability against the run. If you want to beat the bears, you need to go right up the middle. I realize urlacher is a monster, but what can he do if a center is on him? 3 yard gain repeat is the way to beat the bears. By the 4th quarter, you'll break one.

As for stopping their offense, stop thomas jones and you stop their offense. They won't convert many 3rd and longs when a blitz is coming at them.

sad part is the plays SD is running our miss direction with pulling guards, which Pack dont run anymore with zone blocking.

Now can Favre buy into that.

Nope, thats why you run 50 times that game if you have to. They need to take favre out of that game and take him out of the situation where he has to think and make a decision between taking a risk or playing it safe.

The key to beating the bears is taking the sack instead of throwing the pick, that is pretty much just it.

Your theory works IF you have some kind of running game. You can't just run the ball 3 times and punt. It's not that Favre needs to think less, it's the game plan has to be conservative with shorter routes. You can't throw deep down the middle against cover 2 which is something Shermy never learned.

We'll see just how well MM put's a game plan together. The Bears are aggresive. You have to run screens and I don't mean the typical ones. You have to get a little creative. The Bears D is weak towards the sidelines and those are the routes our guys will need to run.

Nah, I say you keep running right up the gut. They'll tire and you'll become more effective as the game goes on. I would agree though, you want to take advantage of the short pass as well.

                Run

If our D can stop their running game, then it will aford us time to keep pounding the ball. Grossman's arm does'nt scare me. I'm positive Woodson can shut down The Bears #1 WR IF Sanders is smart enough to match them up.

Well the packers coach said he did plan on winning that one. The Bears staff said they did not plan for SF and that they didnt hide or disguise none of their coverages not wanting to reveal musch since they do play them in the regular season. In contrast the 49ers QB said they came in with a good gameplan.

2nd, 3rd weeks are the most telling in preseason. Just like the game with ATL 2nite means much more than the week one.

I'd have to agree with that last comment baddest. Can't watch the Pack because my Vikes are playin but I'll have to watch the game day thread here.

'cause he's good or what? I haven't atched any of this game yet, just turned it on.

                          No, I'm just scared....LOL.....
Hester may be the best punt returner in the NFC this year. The Kid is just too explosive and fast when he gets the ball.

                              Its the Bears.

Last week - the Chargers gained 174 yards against the Packers in the first half.

This week - the Chargers gained 176 yards against the Bears in the first half.

The Chargers had 98 yards rushing this week against the Bears in the first half - while the Packers kept the Chargers to only 82 yards rushing the entire game.

Just some positives. The Packer had no takeaways - while the Bears had one for a touchdown.

                              However, it is interesting.
95% of those yards came on one busted run play in which turner became barry sanders in the backfield and then transformed instantly into Bettis down the sideline. Other than that the Bears was stopping them for no gain and losses.
