All of the above. It's a funny thing when you see a RB with natural talent after watching a long string of serviceable backs. I think it's the contrast that makes Ced look much better than he probably is. But the guy has talent, it's obvious. The other guys weren't Travis Jervy bad, just more like Raymont Harris bleah.

Those 4 games will shrink any power back's stats.

The thing I'm looking forward to is Ced starting 2 games against the Bears.

He hates Chicago with all the proper fire.

He ran for 189 against 'em in '09
Affected the stats a little bit. Ran 56 times for 201 yards against Pit/Bal for a 3.6 avg. Ran 216 times for 866 yards against everyone else for a 4.0 average. Didn't run the ball quite as much against those guys. Averaged 14 carries against Pit/Bal abd 18 against everyone else.

Preach it Brother Rand. That should be on a stone tablet.

        Or a fortune cookie.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

I never wanted Moss. SF can have him as he takes plays off.
Why is the KC gm to blame and not TT.

Moss would have been with Favre. Both are good friends. BF wanted another super bowl -- never would have allowed Moss to take off plays. Favre was unafraid to get in receiver's faces (ie Sharpe, Schroder, Walker, etc.)

This stuff has no bearing on the current but maybe TT learned from these two minute fiascos.

I love when a poster makes the counter argument in their own post. Favre had words with Walker and Sharpe over contracts and neither changed their ways (Walker reported after hiring Rosenhaus). Not sure what you recall about Schroeder, but he never seemed to change much, even with Holmgren grabbing his face mask. And Ferguson never caught on either, despite being called out by the QB.

Hard to promote discipline from Hattiesburg during OTAs and partial vacation from minicamp. Nothing screams organization control and discipline than the QB calling the FA shots. McCarthy might have made it work, but you never know. Woodson bought into it, though he gets a lot of considerations.

Well, I think we're all just weird for starters. Also feel Grant and Starks are decent backs, but this offense always makes them the secondary focus for defenses. The fumble numbers are also a little skewed... someone posted on twitter the fumble per carries numbers of Benson vs Grant and they really weren't much different. Benson has been a workhouse for the last three years. Grant not so much from a volume of carries perspective.

I think a fresh Benson -- IN THIS OFFENSE -- will look like a total stud without the big play potential. I'd say most like Abe Lincoln. Will force honesty. (eh eh?)

KC's GM and TT agreed on a 3rd rounder for Gonzalez. At the last minute, KC's GM upped the asking price to a second. Having already agreed on a third, TT wasn't budging. Thus, the KC GM bungled that one by being greedy.

Greedy in your opinion. Unsure if an added second round pick would have been wise. This was prior to Finley.

I meant greedy in terms of changing the requirements for a trade at the last minute after a deal had already been agreed upon.

There was also a public relations aspect to that. No one wants to be labeled as rebuilding and fans and media would pounce on less than equal value in a trade. They eventually got a second round pick but Pioli secured it, not Peterson.

Prior to Finley's emergence as a top TE, but Finley was heading into his 2nd year at the time.
