Never was a Crabtree fan. Dude improved and deserves a roster spot.

He's improving as a pass catcher; he'll never be great at it, but at least now he's a threat to catch a pass.

What he is, however, is literally the only TE on the team who can reliably seal an edge in the running game, and he does the dirty work on special teams. The only real chance of him not making the roster was if Taylor or Williams came in and miraculously became dominant blockers, or if Quarless was miraculously completely healed.

I thought he would make the team this year but I admit I was one of the guys who thought he wouldn't make it last year, I just didn't see them keeping 5 TEs.

Being thin on the O line a good blocking TE like Crabtree is invaluable.
