Chicago writers always seem to remember that gesture by Halas, but never mention that in the 1930s the Packers REALLY did save the Bears. Halas ran out of money to pay salaries, and the Packers gave him the money on a simple IOU to meet his payroll.Originally posted by Jimx29 View PostGreat little write up:

If not for the Packers in the 1930s, the Bears and Halas might not have been around to lobby for a new stadium in GB in the 1950s.
