I don't see any positives out of this loss - bad teams that are looking for signs of improvement say "look at the positives" when they lose.

The bottom line is - this team is not what we thought they could be. Even I, the eternal pessimist, thought they'd be improved over last year, but I think it's obvious this team has regressed badly.

Other teams around the league have solved our offense, and McCarthy hasn't shown he has the first clue how to respond. Running the ball would be the obvious response to what defenses are doing against our passing game - but we have a poor OL, and employ a laughable run blocking scheme that can be stopped without any help from the secondary. Teams will continue to just sit back and force Rodgers to be patient. Wait for the OL to breakdown, get a sack, and that's pretty much all she wrote for that drive.

Defensively we have Dom Capers as our Def. Coord. Nuff said there - he needs to go. As I've said, I think we have more talent on the defensive side of the ball than last year - but with Capers calling the shots you could have the 11 best defensive players in the league on his defense and he'll find a way to fuck it up. What's next?? Put Raji out at corner?? The offense will never see that coming, lol...

Given the tough schedule, I think you can already pencil in losses at Houston, Arizona, and the Giants - those are all tough, physical teams that I give us little chance of being competetive against. Houston will just destroy us.

Figure probable splits with Minnesota and Detroit - that's 7 losses right there. Who knows, maybe we can't even beat StL??

This team is going to struggle all year... they're simply not a tough team. They're a finesse team that needs to play from the lead - every team we play now will simply stand right in front of us and punch us in the mouth - not much we can do about it.

Well, Wist, you are true to form here. The defense held the Seahawks, playing at home, to one touchdown. Then there was the gift from the refs. And I base that not just on one bad call at the end, but at the call against Shields as Sidney Rice was mugging him. That call got Seattle down close and put the Packer offense in a deep hole - deeper than a porn star's.

The young players on defense look promising. Worthy, Perry, Hayward, at least.

Look, it's a long season. The offense is certainly lost right now. Stubby sometimes lets the play calling get away from him - in certain games he gets in a rut of pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, run, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, and so on. But he did adjust at halftime.

And Aaron Rodgers seems to be falling back into some bad habits; namely, holding the ball too long.

But these are fixable problems. This is a game from which to learn.

Look, the special teams is playing well, outside of Cobb's fumbleitis, which is a concern.

The defense is better than last year's unit.

It's a long season. This is a game that a team can learn from. This is a game that can bring a team together.

I wouldn't stop watching the Packers just yet. Nor would I write them off.

They played the best half of the year after playing the worst half of the year. The first half is all on McCarthy for me. One of the few instances where every fan knew what should be done and the adjustment wasn't made until halftime. Embarassing.

For 2 games in a row, the defense played great. Shields is playing great, and the pass rush is light years ahead of last year.

On offense, MM, Clements and Rodgers now surely realize that what worked so spectacularly last year isn't working this year. Packers need to play short ball until they can force teams out of their deep coverage schemes. I think it'll happen.

They weren't running the ball, and were calling slow-developing pass plays apparently designed to go downfield. Probably at least half the sacks could be classified as coverage sacks. In the 2nd half, they were running the ball, and Rodgers was getting rid of the ball quicker.

I think they called only four running plays in the first half, and on almost every passing play it appeared that Rodgers was looking to launch the ball 40 yards down field. He was getting killed back there, yet they called nothing that slowed down the pass rushers at all.

I think they called more play-action passes than actual runs.

Benson had 2 carries at halftime I believe.

Offense would call slow developing plays and either get sacked or backed up by penalties. Facing bad down and distance, offense would call more deep pass plays and get sacked. Rinse and repeat.

I'm hoping the offense is getting things together, although I am still not confident we are there yet. Very disappointing considering the potential we have. I know we have played some good defenses, but things have to vastly improve on offense to have a shot at the playoffs.

To be fair, every time I see a replay of our receivers, a DB is clutching them, holding them, or knocking their asses to the ground. Nelson, especially, is getting mugged. I saw him get completely knocked down on a few times tonight, and we are only seeing a replay of a small percentage of pass plays.

It's already been said for a while that the replacement refs aren't calling the DB muggings. That's partially why the Packers offense isn't rolling. Don't know the rest. But it's something.
