  • OFFICIAL PACKERS VS SAINTS GAME DAY THREAD

Enough is enough with the superstition of who starts these threads. We need a change to this puzzling 2012 season, and I need some optimism so I will be that change.

This is our season breakdown thus far:

    1) We were muscled. (49ers)
    2) We own Chicago. (Bears)
    3) We experience post-game nausea. Missed opportunities and botched calls. (Seahawks)

    Offense has started slow.
    Defense has started fast.
    Rodgers can't find passing windows.
    D regenerates pass rush.
    Nelson is MIA.
    Tramon is back.

Despite these trials and tribulations, I remain confident that this team will put it all together sooner rather than later.

This offense, after MM makes his appropriate adjustments, will start rolling and become more reliable. I think coach is going to have to take advantage of more "big" mulltiple TE formations with many long successful drives incorporating play-action (see Patriots offense 2010-2011). Ball security will be critical (see Benson, Cedric).

The defense is only going to get better as Daniels/Worthy mature and Neal returns and posts a monster second-half. Clay is unstoppable and Mcmillian will only become more valuable as the weather gets worse.

Men, we have had 2 tough games against tough, stout, defensive teams. It is no worry that we are 1-2. Today begins a resurgence. The schedule gets more favorable, and today we transition.

    LETS GO PACK!!!!!

Packers pull away at the end.

The ref fiasco propels the team.

Damn, with that kind of a thread start, how can they lose? Nice work.

In thinking about the offense, where the hell have the back-shoulder throws been. I have seen our typical 2 WR 2 TE play-action bomb rear its head (unsuccessfully) this year but not the back shoulder that was so prominent and effective last year. You would think it would have been effective in Seattle due to their press-man scheme but still didn't see it. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

If the Packers hold the Saints under 17, I'll will start to really buy into this D. Even if it is a fancy pants, namby pamby, oddly-formationalised funk factory.

Pack play a full pissed-off game and gash the Saints (dare I say the 'Aints are back with out Peyton).
But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

It's now or never. we've faced some good defenses but we've also given everyone else plenty of tap on how to disrupt this offense. Either the offense adjusts, or we sit at home watching others play in the playoffs.

                          Inactives:

                          GREEN BAY

                          WR Jarrett Boykin
                          S Sean Richardson
                          CB Davon House
                          RB James Starks
                          LB Terrell Manning
                          TE D.J. Williams
                          DE Philip Merling
Packers analysis: Williams is inactive because TE Tom Crabtree and LB Jamari Lattimore, both of whom were inactive because of injury last week, are active this week. Crabtree getting the nod over Williams tells you a little bit about coach Mike McCarthy's game plan today. Anytime you leave a block active over a pass receiver, you can assume running the ball is in the game plan. I guess we'll see.

                          NEW ORLEANS

                          RB Chris Ivory
                          CB Elbert Mack
                          LB Jonathan Casillas
                          LB David Hawthorne
                          DT Tyrunn Walker
                          OT Bryce Harris
                          DE Turk McBride

House out again. I know we're good at CB right now, but he needs to be out there if he can be.

I wonder if we'll ever see him.
