Didn't the Colts beat the Vikings straight up? Frustrating loss, indeed.

Good teams beat teams that they should. I guess the Packers just aren't good. With McCarthy's "Let's go for it all," play calling, Caper's "I can't adjust on the fly" defense and players still having "miscommunication" in the secondary - there's no way this team is going to be able to even sniff the playoffs.

Ok, I'll back away from the edge now.
Yeah well they beat the Bears once and I have a feeling that they'll win most of their division games. The trick will be to be close enough to the top at the end for that to matter.

You're mostly right, but Rodgers was not horrible. Not great, but when your offense produces 4 TD's you should win. The defense let one receiver beat them, and that is unacceptable.

        • One preseason loss and one reg season loss. That should finish me for Game Day thread honors for the season. Load off my mind.

And since the Packers 2nd half put me off football, I am going to go catch up on Fringe with Netflix instead of be frustrated with inept offense.

Colts played like crap for a half because they were too keyed up. Packers should have buried them so they couldn't use it as motivation in 2nd half.

              • I think Rodgers concern about the line (esp. Newhouse who held up alright) is hurting him. Take that plus losing Jennings, Finley being in a receiving coma, then Benson going out; that is a precision offense that has lost a lot of its precision, lost the guy who is so big and talented that precision used to not matter plus the banger who keeps cover 2 honest. Its not all that is wrong, Cobb, Jones and Jordy should be able to do something, but Rodgers clearly does not trust them as much as he does Jennings.

That thrown in the second half to Jordy in the middle of the field with a LB underneath and a safety over the top, he airmailed it so almost no one could catch it, but there was a window for Nelson there. But he didn't want to risk a pick.

                • And I still don't think that was a crown of the helmet hit by Perry. Replay may make a liar of me, but I think it was clean.

                  Back to Fringe.

I'm all for it but it's versus Houston Texans and that's just not fair to Bs chances for a new W streak.

Replay showed why a flag was thrown - at least to me it did. Perry's helmet got under Lucks chin and pushed his helmet up a smidge. In real time, it probably looked like helmet to helmet. Still a bad call, but I see why the flag was thrown.

That PI on Shields though, I just don't understand. I've rewatched it 5 times, I give up. Refs are out for Green Bay, I swear.

At least he was open enough for Rodgers to throw him the ball. He's got the drops but why in the hell couldn't Nelson or somebody ELSE get open in the second half?

They did. It was called a penalty.

It seems strange to say given the success Reggie Wayne was able to have in this game but the Green Bay coverage was actually pretty good. They essentially shut down everybody except Wayne, and he was at an unplayable level for much of the game. Tramon Williams (+4.3), Sam Shields (+1.2), Charles Woodson (+1.5) and Casey Hayward (+2.1) all graded positively in coverage, combining for seven passes defensed and an interception. Williams led the charge with five PD’s to himself and allowed 10 yards on two catches from 9 targets on passes intended for anybody other than Wayne in the game. Without Wayne making frankly ridiculous plays all through the game, they would have left Luck with nowhere to go with the ball on numerous occasions.
Just insane. 20 targets to Wayne.
