  • Studs and Duds - Week 5 GB vs IND

    Another heartbreaking loss. Up 18 at halftime and we couldn't put the game away.

    STUDS:
    James Jones - 4 for 46 and 2 TDs. He played well again for the second straight week.
    Cobb - 4 for 82 and 1 TD. He also had 97 yards in the return game.

    DUDS:
    MM - A complete second half meltdown that could have been avoided. Our first two possessions in the 2nd half took 2 minutes and 39 seconds. We threw the ball 7 straight plays to start the half up 18 points. Complete mismanagement.

    Mason Crosby- Missed two long FGs. He has to make at least one in a dome with perfect conditions. The second one wasn't even close.

    The Refs - Completely blew the roughing the passer on Perry that was a fumble that the Packers recovered. Also threw a PI on Shields when he had perfect coverage. The refs cost the Pack 6-14 points this game.

    Dom Capers- Reggie Wayne killed us. Double cover him and make Andrew Luck go to one of his other receivers to beat you.

    Other-
    Rogers has to learn that when he gets 4 seconds in the pocket he needs to get rid of the ball. You can't force the OL to block for 5 seconds.

    That's all I can take for this week until later.
    But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

    I thought Rodgers was absolutely awful second half. Just awful. He looked like he'd phoned it in, gave up, didn't care. Maybe I'm just angry, but it seems that all year passes are sailing high and behind or in the dirt and when they do hit the guys in the hands, they bounce right out. So much for our elite WR crew that's supposed to be the best in the league. Lets face it boys, when James Jones is the best weapon in your arsenal, you have problems.
    - Once again, adding absolutely nothing to the conversation.

      MM for sure. One of his worst games ever. They were thinking of next week in the second quarter I thought. We should be able to make 2 point conversions at will with our receivers and tight ends. Two missed field goals sucks too.

        Absolutely the worst Packer game I've seen in a couple years. They got completely shut down by an inferior team, and no group played well. Defense sucked wind and ass, Rodgers was lousy, Green blocked well and had one good run but otherwise looked like Ryan Grant. MM's playcalling went to hell after Benson left. Mason Crosby has to make at least one of those long FG's.

        What a horrible excuse for an effort. They got up 21- and looked like they were mailing it in.

        And Charles Woodson, god love him, I hope he retires after this year.

            Embarrassing!
            Offense= F
            Defense= F
            Special teams= F
            Coaching= F
            The Packers are regressing fast.
            Thanks Ted!

              Don't forget how crappy the offensive line was, too.

              Rodgers, o line, Nelson playing scared, Finley dropping balls, Green doing a Ryan Grant impersonation. Bad, bad offense there.

                  Woodson's got to lead the league in almost interceptions this year. For whatever reason, he's not hauling them in like he used to. Every one clangs to the turf.

                    I thought he was having a horrible game too but thinking about it a few hours later, he really wasn't. He didn't play great in the 3rd qtr but still ended up putting the team in position to score 2x in the last 5 minutes.

                    At the end of the day, he was 63%, 3 TD 1 INT and 103.5 rating. I'd bet most teams would still like to have Rodgers play QB for them.

                    That begs the question: can they beat any team but the Bears when he's anything but stellar?

                      Looking into it more, the Packers were more efficient by the numbers. But the Colts ran 28 more plays. 28! That's insane.

                          no way, after stint at safety it's outside linebacker. then some bulking-up for final phase of his career.

                              I'm not gonna blast the O line. You can't expect them to pass block forever. Crabtree shouldn't be blocking a DE either. What the hell? Green was okay. He didn't get a lot of touches. MM chucked the running game after Benson left. Woodson is too slow to keep up with WRs without holding. He's better off near the LOS harassing QBs and RBs. After Benson left we should have used Cobb out of the backfield a few times. Walden was all over the field. Losing Raji really hurt. After Finley left not many guys got open and Rodgers was getting hammered. With no running game the Colts could tee off and try to rip Aaron's head off.
