At one point earlier in the game he was gushing over Briggs/Urlacher--saying how Briggs stopped the play and Urlacher cleaned it up. The reality was that Grrrlacher came in at the end of the play and jumped on the pile.Originally posted by Iron Mike View PostHe's becoming Nick Barnettesque in his ability to run 10 yards backwards to make a tackle. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro ~Hunter S.

How about Otto Graham? Lots of mostly very short TD runs, but very effective indeed. 7/10 in championship games.Originally posted by Fritz View PostTell the truth, Patler. You're just aching for Bobby Douglass, aren't you?
The funny part about all this is that we're now seeing a couple of young QB's who run the ball rather well - RGIII and Cam Newton."Never, never ever support a punk like mraynrand. Rather be as I am and feel real sympathy for his sickness." - Woodbuck

I was still a lad fresh from Minnesota as Tarkenton, Foreman, Dave Osborn, Ahmad Rashad, and the aging D-line were busy racking up yards and losing Super Bowls. I liked Fran the Man a lot as a kid. He was on TV for a while hosting some kind of bad show and he always seemed pleasant enough, but when I hear him talk now he seems very, very bitter about being an afterthought when the great quarterbacks are discussed.Originally posted by Fritz View PostFran Tarkenton. How I hated that bastard.
I mean really bitter.[QUOTE=George Cumby] ...every draft (Ted) would pick a solid, dependable, smart, athletically limited linebacker...the guy who isn't doing drugs, going to strip bars, knocking around his girlfriend or making any plays of game changing significance.

Ya, he does come across quite bitter about a lot of things now, but he really shouldn't. He is in the Hall of Fame. What more does he want, or expect?Originally posted by swede View PostI was still a lad fresh from Minnesota as Tarkenton, Foreman, Dave Osborn, Ahmad Rashad, and the aging D-line were busy racking up yards and losing Super Bowls. I can only assume that's tongue in cheek.Originally posted by Freak Out View PostAaron Maybin was cut...any reason at all to bring the guy in off the waiver wire at this point?
Looking at his stats, he looks like he did play ok, for the first time in his career, last year. He dropped right off, and the Jets cut him despite what I think was a vet minimum salary. I doubt very much we're going to get more out of him than they did.--
Imagine for a moment a world without hypothetical situations...
