So this term is really sticking in my conscious, in part because it's kind of fun sounding, and to be honest, I'd never heard it before. So I was hoping one of our many black contributors would help a nigga out and clue me in on the origins and cultural ramifications of said... I guess it was supposed to be a slur?

Seriously... ESPN’s Rob Parker is suggesting that inspite of RGIII's color and support from African American Washington Redskin fans, his obvious African American roots... he's not 'a real' black person.

That Robert Griffin III might not be “one of us Vs **them**, so NOT down for the cause”. Rob Parker personally has a name for such blacks. That is... they are 'cornball brothers'.

I need cultural perspective on the origins of the term. What happened to brandon? I know he'd know what a cornball brother is, living in the suberbs and always taking pictures of himself with ugly white girls. There was some guy in FYI a while back too that was at least pretending to not be white, so there's a chance he's black too, whoever that was.
