  • Official Packers vs. Titans Gameday Thread

The playoff-bound Packers made a move at center this week. Will it pay off? I suspect that this is their Kaepernick move, though no talking heads will prattle on endlessly about the switch. It has the potential to be a bigger payoff than that, if it provides a safe little haven for Rodgers in the middle while the ends are getting pinched. A step or two of breathing room could be the difference between a sack and a 20 yard gain. We shall see, starting this week.

Is the move to EDS that big? I don't know. Maybe he'll screw up the protection calls so royally that it'll torpedo the team. The Packers aren't a team to make such a switch so easily. Last year, their downfall seemed to ultimately be helped along by their unwillingness to change parts of the team that weren't working well.

I suspect we'll see a bit different Packers offense. They're going to run. Rodgers is going to take shots when he gets itchy but I think they know that they need to pound the rock these next few weeks in an attempt to back defenses off. Plus, I think M3 has been watching the 9ers and falling in like with their variety in the running game.

I don't know much about the Titans this year. They've been mostly rebuilding with an above average RB and a 2nd year QB with few receiving threats. The Titans used to give GB hell when Jeff Mustache was the coach but this team is just kind of... nondescript. I've seen or heard most teams play this year but have heard very little about the Titans. Johnson runs the ball well but that seems to be it.

That said, the Packers churn out victory against the non-descript Titans.

    Green Bay 27, Tennessee 14.

Thanks for the great and timely gameday thread. It's an important game, no doubt. SF has a brutal game tonight without a guy who could be their best player, against a team that is in the conversation for best team at the moment, in a stadium that is the hardest to play in, with a young QB who could struggle with the chaos and noise.

Winning this game puts us in great position to get a bye week. Seeing Crosby, the running game and the defense take a step forward would mean a lot for our chances of winning the SB. Winning the game might not be as much of a nailbiter as we're used to. This game though, it's important for a lot of reasons. The Packers have a lot of reasons to get up for this game, and we have a lot of reasons to pay great attention to the outcome and how we achieve it. Huge game.

He hadn't passed his concussion test as of Friday afternoon. There's no media access on Saturdays, so who knows? But he won't have practiced all week, so even if he plays, I would imagine he'll be limited. Looks like RB-by-committee today.

He didn't pass. Grant is starting. I kinda hope he goes for 100+ so commentators can kill the inane talking point about their lack of a 100 (even 90) yard rusher. Of course, then they'll start saying that Green Bay has achieved the 100 yard rusher badge so they can now bang their crotch on a flagpole, enter the castle, and rescue the princess.

We win Fritz. Our 'almost an opponent' is 'the Titans'; a bad team on 'O', outside of C. Johnson. We match up very well with the Tennessee Titans.

Our 13th ranked Vs their 23rd ranked 'O'; our 9th ranked Vs their 30th ranked 'D':

Translates to a ten point victory. The bookies had us as 13 point favourites earlier this week.

We must win in Lambeau today and we will win.

                GO PACK GO !

I hope Grant and Harris both get 99 so they can continue to quote meaningless statistics that I can laugh at as the Packers keep winning.

I will be traveling during the game due to a combination of circumstances I schemed and maneuvered to avoid. All for naught. The Family diaspora won out and their loyalties are elsewhere and decidedly not playoff bound.

I am going to lose the TMJ game broadcast by halftime. I am counting on you to defend Jarett Bush, enjoy 3rd and 1 sideline bombs and not bothered if McCarthy throws 15 straight passes.

And feel free to post as much play by play as is legally permissible.

                    Good luck.

                    Packers 30 - 17.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Packers should win, but won't. Don't let the 30th rank defense of the Titans foul you. They've been playing pretty good the last couple games. Rodgers is going to struggle against a decent pass rush, Titans will rush four and get pressure - especially against a this sorry excuse of an o-line that's not even worthy of the term "patchwork." With the "illness" going around the O-line and some other players, who the hell knows who's playing. The Packer Defense will keep us in the game for the most part, but will give up a couple head scratcher plays. Locker will have a couple runs for first downs on 3rd and long, Chris Johnson will run for over 150 yards. This will set up play action; Kenny Britt is going to have a Calvin Johnson day (Packers D always has trouble against the taller receivers). Us Packer fans will be pulling our hair out.....again. Trap Game to say the least.

This team just can't catch a break. Titans 24, Packers 13. Game Over.
